This is what will happen with ALL Utlities. Nothing is new here and this has been the trend over the last 10 years. I work directly in the Utility industry with installation of AMI and Private LTE backhauls. Automation and smarter grid products simply force 55 year old meter readers and non-essential field techs to retire. One could say-- new infrastructure should employ new utility employees. No-- most of the solutions rely on a managed solution through the product manufacturer-- so they are the ones increasing in size.
