Get well soon, dear.

And remember, our legs are our second heart and why walking is the most important thing we can do. Muscle movement adds in returning blood flow back up the lower extremities, fighting gravity.

I am due for something health wise as the stress is tremendous right now, (IRS debt, no job, facing living in my car if you can believe that) and I am out of weapons, beauty is gone and am old and tired. I just hope I go in my sleep and after the dogs are put to rest (they are 15).

better stock up on nitroglycerine before the Democrats make it illegal too.

Well you need to restore the linings of your arteries.
I hope you never smoked. Start with magnesium and grapefuit pectin supplements.

You are precious and needed on this planet. May you live a long life.

DMSO and nitroglycerin may be considered essential - DMSO is a vehicle which sends the nitroglycerin into the dermis/epidermis and expedites absorption into the capillaries/blood vessels, expanding them and increasing blood flow. Patients with scleroderma use nitroglycerin on their hands and feet to increase circulation.

I also wanted to add that my grandmother’s husband restricted himself to 4 cigs a day faithfully for 20 years - one after each meal and one in the evening with his drink.

If you find yourself unable to quit at this juncture, 4 cig a day would be a vast improvement. I am a smoker so I understand. I have quit for a total of ten years. First time, I was able to quit for 5 years with help of marijuana...gave me the inhaled warmth sensation that some find comforting. Stress is what I believe is the greatest threat to us as we age.

your skin should have a lot more color in it, people that smoke have a grey tinge and I know it has to do with the lack of oxygen but it could be a partially clogged artery too. I know it had to do with circulation, that's so awesome you have a clean slate to start with! I want to have one of those artery tests and find out if mine have any dangerous build up.

I really thought I was going to be pulling my hair out by the fistfuls, but I'm doing okay-fine with it.

Asking myself "Why am I now smoke free?" is, I'm so sure, helping a great deal, too. It gets my subconscious on my side!

Re: Sheesh, I had a heart attack last night
Hi there. I too have CAD. Had a mild heart attack at work and got a stent (right coronary artery). Here's what I have been doing since after lots of research and I'm doing fine.

I elected not to take the blood thinners after severe bruising, not to mention the expense. I take 200 mg of aspirin daily (with food) instead. As for statins, when my cholesterol runs high (usually my own fault cheating on diet) I will take them for a month or so (at bedtime..always at bedtime) until I stabilize. For long term plague reduction, vitamin K2 distributes calcium to bones and teeth vs arteries. It can be found in eggs, butter, liver (ick) and dark--meat chicken. The best source is something called Natto...or fermented soy beans. They smell nasty, don't taste too good either but can be prepared in such a way they are tolerable. Adding these things to your diet can help more than statins ever will.

Regular cardio (to tolerance) is helpful too..pushes that nasty stuff right out of your arteries! ...a big issue for me as I have COPD and exercising is becoming very difficult.

If you smoke, stop. If you don't, you will be back for another stent within 2 years.

Glad you are on the mend!

Thanks for the cheer about not smoking. It does give me a boost!

Ya know, I'm keeping my GLP buddies as someones I HAVE to be accountable to.

I took my work vehicle to get all maintenanced up for next week - tune up, oil change, washed - and I found a half cigarette....I wanted to smoke it, but I didn't. I threw it in the trash.

That was REALLY hard, but I did it. Yay!

Thank you, very much, for the advice....hugs

I take D3 with K2, and I have for years. I also take CoQ 10 for many years, but I'm bumping that up to 200 mg. from 100 mg.

I'm really working on getting myself all fixed up....hf
