Starbird, I want to thank you very much for taking the time with me that you have....hf

I've been thinking how to respond to you, but I am okay with him and how he is with me, and I do understand that he can't deal with me being sick. He is used to having a rock solid and strong mother, and while I am that in my spirit, my body is a different story.

My best friend and I were talking and crying a few days ago, and I kept getting the message, like five times, "He doesn't have the room within him to feel about you right now."

I have to and have accepted this now. He's deeply wounded.

I will be talking to his expanded self, and tell him that I love him, and that I understand. This will be as good for me as I hope it will be for him.

I can wish from here until the end of time that he gets himself straightened out, but that is not up to me. It is up to him. Perhaps the talking with his expanded self will help soften him....but I don't want him to do that for me, I want him to do it for himself.

I most likely will within the next few days send him a written message telling him that I love him, but that I need to take care of my health now, and I cannot be ripped up by MY expectation of how he's supposed to be regarding me. I will tell him he is able to talk to me at any time, when he's ready and able.

Thank you again, lovey. I read every word you wrote, and I do appreciate your effort, very much...hugshf

Fuck all if I can help him, if he won't accept it....and now he's so dangerously close to losing his mother. too.

I despise saying that, but I am more and more thinking going on like this is not in my best interest.

Re: Sheesh, I had a heart attack last night
Okay, I have to admit that I just smoked an half a cig....yes, I bought a pack.

I'm only going to say that I'm having problems with my son, and he just blew up on me because I asked for my house key back, because I needed to give it to someone who could actually be there for me.

When I was in the ICU I texted him and told him I had had an heart attack and was in the ICU, and would he come to take me home. He only lives an half-hour away. He said he was too busy, and then hasn't even inquired how I was doing since then. This is not the only time he's shined me on where health issues are concerned.

It fucking wrecked me that he blew up on me, so I bought some cigarettes because I was such a mess.

I will see about throwing them away when I get myself calmed down.

What kind of son doesn't care about their mom like this?....it hurts terribly. I haven't said anything here about it, because I'm embarrassed.

I don't actually want to say anything else about it, it hurts too much. I've just got to adjust.
 Quoting: cosmicgypsy

Oh man I'm so sorry that must be so hard on top of everything else you have been through. After everything you have done for him and given to him as his mom!

I'm sure it is very hurtful, but try not to internalize it too much and keep your stress levels down.

I think this is a big societal problem, our current culture doesn't teach children to respect and value their elders, I especially see this with men. Lots of selfishness and a mentality that older people are dispensable.

Not saying this is how your son is, but just Americans in general really don't treat older family members as well as other cultures do and care for them the way they should. Everyone is just too busy with themselves and thinking about themselves.

Hopefully he will come to understand the severity of the situation and be there for you the way he should. I'm sure he will regret it someday if not. Just surround yourself with positive, supportive people who know how to help during a difficult time and try not to let it get to you.

Thanks, youse guyses!....hf

I'll tell ya, I can use all the prayers and well wishes I can get. I'm working on quitting cigs AND sugar AND meat, all at the same time. Working being the operative word.

I feel like a big ole Homer Simpson....DOH! DOH! DOH!

ana

I'm back to work, which is fabulous, except I wanted to wring my client's throat this morning, because she would ask me a question, I'd start to answer her, and then she'd freaking interrupt me, complaining about the reason for the question. This went on for an hour. Of course, it doesn't help I'm quitting everything like I am. I was in one hella pissy mood this morning.

putin

I got to go shopping at Sprouts in Las Cruces yesterday, and I did buy a half pound of grass fed ground beef to make a small meatloaf with, so I'm going to damn well enjoy that! It's probably my last meatloaf, one of my comfort foods.

I also bought $25 worth of organic vegies and apples and raspberries....heh, the raspberries are already gone. I'll have to get me some more of those on Thursday when I go back. I love 'em.

I figure if I'm stuffing my face with organic fruits and vegies and yogurt, then I won't gain as much weight from quitting the cigs.

I'm just about finished with that pack of cigs I bought last week...two more left. I'm not buying more. Again.

BUT, since the stent has been put in I JUST found out I can vape! Before the stent, I'd feel like my lungs were caving in on me when I'd hit the vape, but now not.

Being able to vape is going to make quitting easier. I'm thinking of giving myself three months to be nicotine free.

blink....and I lost six lbs. last week. I think that's probably from water weight going away, due to the clogged artery being opened. I'm going to ask the doc tomorrow if that's the likely reason.

I want to thank youse guyses from the bottom of my cranky, but healing heart for all the prayers and well wishes....send

changing the diet is super hard, you'll tweak and refine it here and there. I cut back on my meat consumption too, I keep it at one meal a day, used to be all the meals and I have a meatless day. don't forget to add avocado's to your grocery list! oh those make great salads with sweet onions, cilantro a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt! sometimes I'll add an egg sunny side up with some cheese on top and bacon and make it a whole meal.

Yes, I saw that this morning, that avocados are very effective at reducing cholesterol.

I loved avocados as a kid. It was nothing for me to eat them with a spoon right out of their skin with nothing added.

Then I got pregnant, and I lived on an avocado farm. You'd think I would've been in heaven, but lawdy, my love for avocados went flying outta the window due to hormonal pregnancy, and my very strong dislike of mushrooms turned into a love for mushrooms, fresh ones. I'd buy a big bag of fresh mushrooms, and just nom nom nom on them raw.

I can eat some homemade guacamole, sometimes, actually rarely....but after reading what I did this morning, when I go to Cruces on Thursday I'm going to get one avocado, and see if I can eat it and....harhar, keep it down while in the parking lot.

If I can do it without tossing my cookies, then I'm going to get five or six of them to bring home with me.

And I'm only supposed to eat up to a pound of white meat chicken a week. That is all. Only one pound a week. Uhg.

The meatloaf was a total blow it, but I was trying to talk Anonymous Girl into trying meatloaf for the first time, got a craving for it, and then had the heart attack. I forgot about my craving for meatloaf until Sunday night on BBQ Boy's 'What's for dinner?' thread when someone mentioned they were having meatloaf.

I was done for. I swear, I was salivating for meatloaf. SO, I really did have to make the meatloaf... I mean, I'm not into being totally cruel and unusual with myself, and dang, I think it was the very best meatloaf I've EVER made in my entire life.

That's the way to go out, with the best I've ever had!....ohyeah

I have been very mostly a vegetarian before, and I can do it again. It's really not the food or sugar thing that's killing me, it's the cigs....but now I've found I can vape, so that just got at least a little easier.

I'm a Type A blood type. I'm supposed to eat mostly vegetarian according to the Eat Right 4 Your Type book. Heh, I'd probably not have been in as bad of shape as I was artery-wise had I of remained a vegetarian.

For sure, while eating mostly vegetarian I don't feel all weighed down like I do right now after eating even just a small portion of meatloaf, baked potato, and a whole load of steamed broccoli.....chuckle I have enough leftover meatloaf for a nice sandwich tomorrow.

BTW, a yummy tip for your baked potato: Mix salt, pepper, a tad bit of garlic powder, just a wee bit, and lots of chopped greens from scallions into your sour cream before putting the potato in the oven, so it can gel and the flavors bloom. It's a super delicious topping for a baked potato.

I did however use plain no fat yogurt instead of sour cream, and it was pretty good too. It was a little on the sour side, but good enough for me, for sure.

meatloaf is good af, I loved it with corn and smothered in bbq sauce. I haven't had any in a long time like that.

I'm so glad you can vape too! the transition will be so easy and you can get so many delicious flavors, sugar cookie vapes were always my favorite and my house smelled so good when I vaped bakery flavors.

I hope you can keep the avocado down too, that's so good for you and will help keep you feeling full. Collard greens are full of fiber, stuff like that will help keep you feeling satiated.

you can also make a cold cucumber soup with the yogurt, I use full fat because there is more sugar in low fat. I put a whole cucumber in for a big container, a whole bulb garlic minced, salt and pepper to taste, a couple splashes of vinegar and water to the consistency I like, My oldest daughter loves it and tells me it taste like ranch dressing lol.

cucumbersoup

oh and that blood type diet made me gain way too many pounds, I'm ab and it was so high carb lol my whole body blew up into a water balloon, it was horrible! I was pooping every 5 minutes so it was good for my digestion which I think the whole blood type diet is geared around, digestive issues.

Re: Sheesh, I had a heart attack last night
I'm in the ICU. They put a stint in to open up the completely clogged artery.

I'm going to be fine, but that HURT something fierce!

Now I understand why people say it feels like there's an elephant sitting on your chest.

Not enough ding dong is probably what attributed to the problem!

Re: Sheesh, I had a heart attack last night
meatloaf is good af, I loved it with corn and smothered in bbq sauce.

Cucumbers?....just no. They hurt my stomach, it cramps. I LOVE the way they smell, though. So fresh...they just hurt my stomach too much.

I have two vape sticks, nice ones I paid good money for. And I already have a bottle of German Chocolate Beefcake juice. I'm all good to go that way.

Now, I only have one cigarette left. I'm on the big count down now.

Got damn, it's so ugly the addiction to cigarettes. Just nasty.
