changing the diet is super hard, you'll tweak and refine it here and there. I cut back on my meat consumption too, I keep it at one meal a day, used to be all the meals and I have a meatless day. don't forget to add avocado's to your grocery list! oh those make great salads with sweet onions, cilantro a squeeze of lime and a dash of salt! sometimes I'll add an egg sunny side up with some cheese on top and bacon and make it a whole meal.
Quoting: chasity Yes, I saw that this morning, that avocados are very effective at reducing cholesterol.
I loved avocados as a kid. It was nothing for me to eat them with a spoon right out of their skin with nothing added.
Then I got pregnant, and I lived on an avocado farm. You'd think I would've been in heaven, but lawdy, my love for avocados went flying outta the window due to hormonal pregnancy, and my very strong dislike of mushrooms turned into a love for mushrooms, fresh ones. I'd buy a big bag of fresh mushrooms, and just nom nom nom on them raw.
I can eat some homemade guacamole, sometimes, actually rarely....but after reading what I did this morning, when I go to Cruces on Thursday I'm going to get one avocado, and see if I can eat it and....harhar, keep it down while in the parking lot.
If I can do it without tossing my cookies, then I'm going to get five or six of them to bring home with me.
And I'm only supposed to eat up to a pound of white meat chicken a week. That is all. Only one pound a week. Uhg.
The meatloaf was a total blow it, but I was trying to talk Anonymous Girl into trying meatloaf for the first time, got a craving for it, and then had the heart attack. I forgot about my craving for meatloaf until Sunday night on BBQ Boy's 'What's for dinner?' thread when someone mentioned they were having meatloaf.
I was done for. I swear, I was salivating for meatloaf. SO, I really did have to make the meatloaf... I mean, I'm not into being totally cruel and unusual with myself, and dang, I think it was the very best meatloaf I've EVER made in my entire life.
That's the way to go out, with the best I've ever had!....
I have been very mostly a vegetarian before, and I can do it again. It's really not the food or sugar thing that's killing me, it's the cigs....but now I've found I can vape, so that just got at least a little easier.
I'm a Type A blood type. I'm supposed to eat mostly vegetarian according to the Eat Right 4 Your Type book. Heh, I'd probably not have been in as bad of shape as I was artery-wise had I of remained a vegetarian.
For sure, while eating mostly vegetarian I don't feel all weighed down like I do right now after eating even just a small portion of meatloaf, baked potato, and a whole load of steamed broccoli.....
I have enough leftover meatloaf for a nice sandwich tomorrow.
BTW, a yummy tip for your baked potato: Mix salt, pepper, a tad bit of garlic powder, just a wee bit, and lots of chopped greens from scallions into your sour cream before putting the potato in the oven, so it can gel and the flavors bloom. It's a super delicious topping for a baked potato.
I did however use plain no fat yogurt instead of sour cream, and it was pretty good too. It was a little on the sour side, but good enough for me, for sure.
