This is not new. This is always been what they wanted to do. They want to say that Assange become complicit in the leaks themselves when he taught then Bradley how to download and then to use an encrypted method of transfer.

The law seems to say something like journalist can get classified information but they can't have any hand in the actual theft. I think they would have to prove that Assange knew what was going to be transferred before it happened. I don't know what they did to Bradley Manning during all that time they had him and supposed isolation. It was traumatic enough that he come out not wanting to be a man anymore. They could have probably brainwashed him to say anything. Someone probably said I want his balls oh, and I found a way to literally get his balls, just in a different way, for all I know.
I imagine they have some timeline or communications they could use against Assange, because to me Bradley Manning or Chelsea Manning is batshit insane enough that I think a good lawyer could refute that testimony. They could definitely say that all that was extracted under duress.

Someone has a good point, how do we know Chelsea was once Bradley? Assange has always seemed to be more open minded about someone's sexual identity.

That said, Assange is a publisher seeking to bring transparency to hidden methods and motives. He has said that Russian government operatives were not his source. What would it mean if they were his source?

I might be wrong but as I recall specifically Assange had told Bradley Manning to setup tor and access the deep Web in order to transfer the documents.

Chelsea Manning leaked this infamous footage which (upon information and belief) is evidence of our forces committing warcrimes, alas.

But the entire footage also shows an American soldier rescuing a child from the van that had been bombed by Americans. So the footage does not ONLY depict Americans being callous, it ALSO depicts an American being humane and trying to help an injured child.

So, in my opinion, this video does not help the enemy. This video helps to show the reality of that war, and this particular leak and Wikileaks publishing it was something honorable and good for humanity.
