They way they register depends on several factors. Type of meter(s), distance apart, height from ground, amount of nearby lightning, etc. So it would be good to check multiple sources. There are even designs to build one yourself. |

Quoting: LookingInward Hmmm. thanq OP, I used to love mysteries, but I'm too old and too sick enough with MS and literally poor enough to truly be unable to research decently myself <using a crappy, CRACKED cell phone which is my SOLE internet access, "wha-wha" whatever lol smh>. The biggest question I have, I guess (in general-to whoever might know), is exactly what created those lines to appear in such a manner and why. What does it mean? But enough people agree that this is a NEW phenomena and no-one can really figure it out. Mr. MBB333 also said same. Seasoned watchers have the wherewithal to honestly say they don't know WHAT it is. And for some reason, I have a feeling that this is NOT the last that we'll see of it. |

Weird, i said to my boss I wanted to release our new Social Media app for conspiracy on iOS for that exact time. But I released early, doh. This by Storm2come has some insight. something odd is showing on the Schumann Resonance monitor right now, it's showing diagonal lines , where normally they're only vertical. Quoting: storm2come [link to translate.google.com (secure)] After doing a little digging I may have come up with an explanation. [link to advances.sciencemag.org] Observations of a subauroral arc The various forms and types of aurora correspond to boundaries of the different regions in Earth’s magnetosphere and the different processes that occur in each region. Descending in latitude from the magnetic poles to the equator, there is a poleward boundary, indicating the last “closed” field line in the magnetotail ….. In many cases, multiple independent observers recorded the arc, thus increasing data quality. Observations typically corresponded to nights of enhanced auroral activity predicted over Alberta, either strong substorms or geomagnetic storms of any magnitude. The arc is typically observed during premidnight hours [in magnetic local time (MLT)], lasting for approximately an hour. With no accurate scientific classification for the arc available, the citizen scientists named the arc “Steve” in place of the misnomer proton arc (15). Later in 2016, Steve was given the backronym “Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement” (STEVE) because of data obtained from the satellite measurements reported below. [less than 50%] |
