Vaginal odor is all about the immune system (which is mostly genetic but also diet-dependent to a lesser extent), which favors healthy yeasts and bacteria and eliminates the more pathogenic organisms.

I've smelled all kinds of vaginas. So many different smells to be found out there. But the healthy ones... they all smell about the same (which is to say really good.)

It's not really about hygiene. Nasty pussy can't simply be "washed clean". Healthy pussy smells fine long after the last shower.
