The saudis really have women figured out. I mean honestly their pretty smart theyre entire society is designed around the fact that women can't be trusted. I'm finally starting to see why they do the things they do. They're not even wrong.

I agree.

If this woman was under the tutelage of a responsible grown man, she would have been denied his permission to move or even travel to Saudi Arabia in the first place.

She should have planned ahead. Played the sweet wife, convinced him to travel with daughter to US to visit family, then left him where she, and daughter, could have some legal protection.

Better yet -- don't marry a muzz.

Yup. She made so many mistakes and is now stuck.

I sort of feel sorry for her, but why did she marry a Saudi or a rag in general? What did she expect was going to happen?

She probably thought he was different than the others.

Re: American Woman, Divorced From Saudi Husband, Is Trapped in Saudi Arabia
About the inability to leave the country with the child ... Cry Me A River ...

American Women REGULARLY prevent their ex husbands from even seeing their children, and seldom do the "Family Courts" intervene to force the AMERICAN woman to actually follow the Court's Order wrt to visitation.

If the child was born in Saudi Arabia and always lived there it is reasonable for it to REMAIN THERE!! If the father is it's legal custodian per Saudi Arabian Law, then that is the law that the US will apply too. Why should a mother have MORE rights wrt a child than the Father?

There was a classic case 20 years ago wrt a Cuban Child who's divorced father, who did NOT have Cuban legal custody the child, escaped to the US and brought his minor child with him. US Courts ORDERED that child to be returned to Cuba, and the US actually used armed US agents to seize that child and return him to Cuba.

Well said.

Isn't it incredible how the whole Elian Gonzalez thing was nearly 20 years ago? Holy shit, does time fly.
