We have taken him to other doctors, SSM was one of them. That’s where we found out that his Liver was being affected. We’ve taken him to Capital Regional and they wouldn’t see him because he is not vaccinated. My family has adverse reactions to vaccinations and the doctors here flat out refuse to treat unvaccinated children... WTH? We took him to JCMG and saw a Dr. Brooke’s who is a family practitioner because we needed a referral, he said in front of my child, “Well, I don’t see sick children, I only see healthy ones!” I KID YOU NOT! But wait, there’s more... his Endocrinologist up in Columbia dropped him as a patient and put a no trespassing order... why? Because I called him out for giving my kid the wrong medications, because I disagreed with his medical advice when he told me to give my son 3 Units of (R) insulin when Gavin’s Blood Glucose is 300... he knew that each unit would bring my son down 100 points. I told him, “Don’t you know that will bring him down to ZERO? He then proceeded to tell me that wouldn’t happen! I said, REALLY, because when I gave Gavin 2 (R) Units being at a 300 he went down to a 47... seven more points and he’d be in a coma!”

As for St. Jude’s, we don’t believe we’ll receive better care there. We already called St. Louis and here’s what the Diabetic Care Team said... “I think it would be dangerous for you to see other doctors!” WTF, is that supposed to mean? What, now I can see the doctor that I think will give my child the best care?

The simple fact is that the stress of being shuffled around to different doctors, being given the wrong medications, having the doctors refuse to treat his digestive issues plus being given bad medical advice has caused a tremendous strain on Gavin and the rest of our family members.

Yes, we could go to Chicago, or Ohio or any number of places and take the “chance” that the doctors there will do right by us, but there is a reason so many people are getting care outside the United States. When you’ve been, screwed with enough and the doctors say that there is nothing they can do, people find a way! They go to wherever they have to get the care they need.

he needs to eat foods that will heal his liver, all livers can be healed with proper nutrition, onions and garlic will raise his glutathione level. there are also hepa pills that will heal the liver that body builders take. there are no supplements, only food that will raise the glutathione level for proper liver function, at least 1 whole onion and garlic bulb a day.

My husband has traveled to his home country for healthcare too. It is very, I know passports are around $250 a person, airfair at least 1000 each and the cost of living there and your expenses at home. I believe you need at least that much. But why not just send your wife and son when you get the first part of the money and you can go later? I wouldn't make him wait if you think they can help more. I've been doing a lot of research myself and I know it's not easy when your child is diagnosed, you want them fixed but it takes time to heal the liver.

there are supplements out there but the body makes it naturally with the proper foods. don't waste your money on supplements, don't let your son think a pill will fix him, he needs to know only food is proper medicine for his condition. It’s not just the Liver, there’s other problems with his digestive tract. He can’t process saturated fat or raw fiber. When he consumes saturated fat, like a burger or even fried canola oil potatoes he immediately goes into sweats, has abdominal pain and feels nauseous. Also, please don't take this wrong but i've read your posts in this thread and i am very confused why you are getting so many crazy experiences from U.S. Doctors, I mean i just made a quick list below of your complaints and its mind blowing to believe you've had all these bad experiences. I sorta think you are making this much more difficult than it really is. The United States has some of the best doctors in the entire world, dude...really man, conspiracies aside, the US has some damn good doctors.

Look at your complaints below... I mean, really? I really hope things work out for you and your kid man but i think you are being a bit too picky and suspicious of doctors which you may be making things worse for your kid than you realize.

Some of the things like, Aloe Vera I believe would help. I just wanted you to know that your opinion is valuable to me. You seem very knowledgeable in all things health. yes, my dad has type 2 diabetes but my grandmother had type 1 and eventually died from cancer. Her blood sugar was out of control and I wish we had the knowledge we have now. Because the sugar is so high in the blood, that causes tumors and cancer. her blood started disappearing and finally they found a tumor eating all of her sugary blood. she died 2 weeks later, it was in her organs. that was after 40 years of having type 1 out of control.

you need to invest in glucose strips, the insurance only covers so many with no room for doing it multiple times a day. I found the side kick brand from walmart, 50 strips and a new meter for $20. test before and 1 hour after meals and figure out what dose insulin he needs, carbs are going to spike him. the only carbs he should be eating are from vegetables like broccoli cauliflower. keep the protein to just 1 meal a day, not all 3 meals and also add lots of nuts like walnuts and avocados and macadamia nuts to keep him feeling full. keep his diet limited to only a few different meals, the ones that work. he is young and will bounce back in no time, I promise you it works, you just have to be persistent and make him stick to it, it's a matter of life and death. Once you have it figured out what he can and cannot eat, his insulin that you inject should be fairly the same, you won't have to calculate every time, this will make life for him so much easier.

my dad also has fatty liver, they don't tell us this but everyone with diabetes has it when the sugar goes too high. your son didn't look over weight in the picture but there could be fat accumulation around his organs. Our liver makes the only antioxidant that works, glutathiomine. everything else being sold to us doesn't work as well as our natural detoxifier, the liver produces this. your son can reverse all liver damage, it's probably not as bad since this is only been going on for a year, it will take less time for it to heal. all sulfur veggies, bitter greens, get a juicer for the bitter greens it will go down easier for him, dandelion, cucumber, celery, collard all make a great juice for him to drink daily and help his liver.

You do know that accessing reduced healthcare in most countries requires more than just showing up with a residence card, right (and in fact as a spouse with a non-permanent card the only thing you can get is prenatal care)?

You actually have to pay into the system and live there. In a child's case, the parents would have to be paying into the system in the form of social security and health taxes.
