I had a spirit of Mormonism living in a new house that I moved in to and it only left after prayer and fasting. I saw it leave in a vision in the night and it hasn't been back after 3 years.

without sounding like an idiot...I always thought that they wanted something from us, so I did nothing at first, after a while and my daughter falling down the stairs one night trying to get away from one, I decided enough, so I tried contacting a paranormal society. I have cleared two houses successfully by walking thru the house while burning sage and asking Jesus Christ to assist the earth bound spirit and clear the house.

Real Christians with Christ dwelling within them, can rebuke spirits and be rid of them. Usually this isn't needed as the evil ones flee from the presence of a real believer that trusts in the Lord for all things.
Our new house had a few oddities going on. I prayed about it and it all ceased. There is power in prayer you would not believe until you see it in action.

Get some ancient religious rituals for the druids or someone off the internet and completely confuse your ghost. Once you start your chanting and displaying your new artifacts he wont know what hes dealing with.

You have to be a believer and filled with the Holy Spirit to permanently get rid of it. Just saying the Lord's name doesn't work.

"Hooded" says to me that this is a demon. If you can't get rid of it, you had better move.

I was hoping for hooded ghost stories in the comments but obviously not. I too was a victim. Saw a medieval monk in rags pass by in the hallway when iwas 14. Very shaken. He turned and scowled at me. I was sitting in bed reading narnia. My new house has a poltergeist. I just swear at him he leaves.

100% of "hauntings" are done by entities that will eventually display malicious behavior. 100% of them are evil spirits. Sometimes, a spirit will seem friendly or benign, but the deeper you go, the worse it gets. ALWAYS.

There are extremely rare instances where God may permit a deceased person (e.g. relative) to appear or provide a sign for you, but not in the manner you describe.

There's an evil entity present in your home. Attempting to communicate with it and believing it's just a deceased human being is the worst thing you can do. It is actively trying to deceive you into thinking such.

Acknowledge within your home that the presence is evil and unwanted. Do not seek it.

The honest truth and bottom line in these situations is that there is only one name they fear - JESUS!

Command the spirit to leave in the name of Jesus, in the name of Christ. Speak Bible verses. Hang an artist's impression of Jesus in the hallway or bedroom. Have a Bible audiobook play loudly while you are out of the house or at home. But most importantly, have faith in Jesus.

All my experience, even from a secular viewpoint, led me to the conclusion that this is the only real way to rid yourself of these things. Good luck.

Prayer and fasting would work.

Our youngest daughter had a spriit who sat on her bed at night. She could feel the bed when it sat down. She would lay there very very still until it went away. She started sleeping on the floor in her brothers room. Finally she told us. I called a minister we knew in another state. They had the church people pray over the cloth. The instructions given to us was pray and then burn the cloth. We pleaded the blood of Jesus over our home and selves, burned the cloth and never had any problem.

Some visitations the other side are benign like my son when he comes. The one in that other house was not.
