Man you Americans have no idea how lucky you are.
Our gas went up 10 cents a liter last night. That's about 40 cents a gallon over night.

"Taxes are one of the largest components of fuel prices in Canada. In 2017, Canadians paid an average of 27.6 cents of tax on every litre of gasoline. This represents almost $14 on a typical 50 litre fill up (excluding sales tax)."
And our 'sales tax' is 14%!!! which is added on top of all that!
So at roughly $1/Liter we are paying 27+14=41 cents a liter in taxes. About $1.60/per gallon. Just in taxes.

My husband and I said the same. Her argument was that Alabama was being left behind by all the states surrounding us, but in actuality, all the surrounding states have lotteries.

Rats would take all your money if they could. If we keep allowng them to reproduce, they will take all our money.

This is one tax that makes sense - so long as the money is used on the road infrastructure and not stolen.
