Re: I need to get away, got money saved up and ready to make a big escape soon.
I have a little over a thousand bucks saved up and I know in the grand scheme of things that isn't much but I want to use it to get a Greyhound ticket somewhere that is vagrant/homeless friendly, maybe buy a tent, rent a spot in some national forest maybe or find a work exchange program (preferably not a left-leaning commune) but I do not fit into society anymore and there is nothing left here but pain and I need to get away before I drive myself more crazy. Any pointers? I'm in Texas right now but ready to move just about anywhere.

With just a thousand bucks in your pocket, you'll be robbing convenience stores within a month. Or dead. For what you want to do, you need at least 20K. Bare minimum.

You'd be surprised on how far someone can stretch their money when they've grown up in extreme poverty.

Extreme poverty with a job is much different than extreme poverty without a job. Extreme poverty with local ties is much different than extreme poverty while being completely alone in the world---AND without a job. You're not young and cute anymore so nobody will even want to kidnap you to give you a roof over your head. And I could go on and on, but you get the point.

You might consider New Mexico. It's inexpensive to live here, at least out of the big cities it is.

I can't write the name of the town wherein I live because GLP changes it to something weird, but here's a link--

Nobody bothers you, if you don't want to be bothered.

There are no EQs, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no volcanoes. We do have a windy season, but that's about the worst. The water is of course terrible, but I just fill up jugs.

I've lived here over four years, and I really like it here. I'm 60, though, and just like the quiet life. If you like to bar hop, then this isn't the place for you....lol, there is only one bar. I've never been, so I can't say anything about that.

Do some research about the area....I mean, there's Las Cruces, Ruidoso, and Roswell, too. I wouldn't want to live in Las Cruces, though, too many people for me, but it's where I do most of my shopping.

I'm very happy here in "Alamo".....hf

A very beloved friend of the family moved to New Mexico long ago and loved it, died peacefully there, happy and content with the life changes she made in her old age. I avoid bars like the plague honestly. If I want to enjoy a cold beer I'd rather sip it on my front porch or over a nice campfire. New Mexico sounds quite lovely and I don't think it would be as expensive on the greyhound not like going halfway across the country to cali or oregon. I appreciate the suggestion! (by the way this is CM, CG. dont have a paid acct anymore) hope you're well though nice to see you on my thread.

Kind of an embarrassing question but do you know if there's any homeless shelters or missions there in your city where I could stay temporarily to conserve the funds I have saved up and find work and maybe look into getting into housing or find a cheap room for rent? I don't know if im able to do this and the mods might delete the post or something but shoot me an email at cmmrq at protonmail dot com because I dont have a glp account anymore to private message but I keep looking at the pictures online especially of the white sands and the space museum and all kinds of things looks like it'd be worth visiting and who knows maybe stay a while? I'm going to comment on your wave thread, lots of reading but this is right up my alley. Thanks friend.

Greyhound to California. Stowaway on a ship headed to Oahu, they have a big homeless tent and cardboard box city you can live in. Get a job at one of the hotels/resorts.

This is actually something I would be very much interested in doing.

Do you have any pointers about how to get from cali to oahu? I mean you seem oddly specific about this.

Can you point me in the right direction, friend?

You're probably better off getting a one way ticket on an airline from LAX than hopping a ride on a container ship. $213 one way from LAX.

Obviously I will stretch the funds very conservatively and still find odd jobs. I have skills in construction, handyman/maintenance work and food service jobs, cooking, sous chef, kitchen prep. This is your last resort after everything else

fails. Besides hoping for the RV/GRC to manifest,

there are two other options. Follow all directions

explicitly. Research how others show, on video, how

they use the SS card to buy on Amazon. Research the

govt claiming failures in using the SS card.

1. Enter your government name, your social security

number and your routing number into an Amazon

Govt name: All capitals, FIRST MIDDLE LAST
Social Security Number with no dashes xxxxxxxxx
Routing Number of one of three Banks, The US Treasury 057 736 158, Dispersment Bank of NY 262 085 863, Social Security Administration 021 050 406(466?).

Another option

2. Download and open a no-log, VPN (virtual private

network, 256-bit military encryped tunnel) to

protect your TOR browser download from any ISP

(internet service provider). Download TOR browser

and open after the VPN. Type "hidden wiki" in the

TOR browser. You are now on the hidden web. Follow

all instructions explicity. Dont change the size of

your TOR window. Find only the VISA (CC) cards that

have pre-loaded funds on them. You pay 10% for the

spendable balance from $2000 for $200 to $20,000 for

$2,000 in bitcoins. You can deliver to your home

I'm a hard worker, that's never been the issue. Wherever I end up, I'll find a job to keep staying afloat.

Of course it gets hot as hell in June/July, but that's the worst of the heat. It rarely snows, and the winters are mild compared to elsewhere.

It is a liberal State, but like I said, if you don't bother anyone, they don't bother you.

You could definitely find a job here, given what you've said your skill set is.

Uh you can make meals/gas/meds off us? I need drivers and grocery/dr runs and we eat pretty deluxe on our feast days.

gaah....GLP even messes up links to the town. Lawdy.

The name of the town starts with "Alamo".........and then add on "gordo" to that, and you have the full name of the town.

My gawd, what does GLP have against the town I live in!

We were thinking about up there. You are just north of us. I am just south of las cruces at vado and looking to get farther north out of the poison of these ag fields.
We have to find a bigger cheap house.
But yes, people leave you alone here and its def not midwest.
The way they do medicine here is either butcher shops or salons, so my salon ought to have enough people.

*disclaimer - we do ALL eat 6-20 things a day to keep the border effects off of us. We recommend that.

You could get a hob at a National Park Resort - sous chef or whatever

They have bunkhouses and free lodging for workers
-
Many go from Park to park - North In the Summer like Mount Ranier outside Seattle
And Grand Canyon in Arizona in the winters

You get a place to stay - a paycheck - a place of natural beauty to enjoy and hike on days off - don't know about health insurance - but you do t need a car to get to work

I've had a few handful of accounts on here. Christopher Michael? Publican was one of my main ones? Idk different names. Haha but yeah we've exchanged PM's a bit before. GLP helped my mom out quite a bit when she got diagnosed with colon cancer. Idk if any of thats ringing a bell.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77329300

Publican does, it rings a bell. I was just looking through my PMs as it would be....holy kwap, I've got a looong list of them. Harhar, I need to clean that up a bit!l There's a whole load of PMs there.....1rof1

Well, if you do decide to move here, please get hold of me on here. I'm always around, most of the time, when I'm not working. At the very least, I check in every day.

In fact, I have this thread personally pinned, so I would see if you posted on there, okay?

I have family and friends in New Mexico. They love it. If you don’t work in a national park then go there. Hawaii sounds extreme. Boring there to just get stuck homeless with no job.

Greyhound to California. Stowaway on a ship headed to Oahu, they have a big homeless tent and cardboard box city you can live in. Get a job at one of the hotels/resorts.

Why not find a place where you can work on a farm for room and board?

You will learn farming skills

Eat good farm food

Work outdoors

Get strong

etc

well you get the idea. you can be comfortable outside but you need the right gear.

The person who says stay where you are has a point.

Is there anyone in your world that you like?

I'd say gravitate that-a-way. You don't have to right on top of them. But nearby.

Tribe is important.

Someone you can go and have a fire with once a week.

I'm not very social as it is.

In fact I want to stay as antisocial as possible.

stay away from oregon. Go to Odessa TX, oil workers need service industry workers for food and such, you can make good money and its certainly going to be camper friendly.

if you are going to be homeless, go somewhere warm year round - don't go willingly into a bad situation
