If you're looking for peace of mind, happiness, love, or the ability to love others, look no further than within yourself.

Running away will not satisfy your hunger for these things.

The only thing you will be escaping is facing your own fears.

Man up, get productive, eat right, exercise. You will be too tired to wish for something you have already.

Alaska still has a lot of places you can get "loner jobs", as well as homestead.

I have a little over a thousand bucks saved up and I know in the grand scheme of things that isn't much but I want to use it to get a Greyhound ticket somewhere that is vagrant/homeless friendly, maybe buy a tent, rent a spot in some national forest maybe or find a work exchange program (preferably not a left-leaning commune) but I do not fit into society anymore and there is nothing left here but pain and I need to get away before I drive myself more crazy. Any pointers? I'm in Texas right now but ready to move just about anywhere.

Yes, but Alaska is terrible for being expensive, and supplies and basics are gouged. The locals are creepy in some parts too.

Dude.. Go to coolworks.com and get a job that also has accommodations. They pay well, feed you and give you a cheap place to live (sometimes free). They always need people in the spring and summer. Most pristine places left in America from Alaska TO everywhere. Montana has many on there. Do it quick. People already looking!

I did it without the vagrancy, Boston to California, with less than a grand. Lived out of my car. Took a week to get across the conus, didn't stop expect to buy weed and sleep and eat. I showered at planet fitness along the way. Got a job in the first month. Been enjoying the change of scenery.

In fact I want to stay as antisocial as possible.

Try N. Minnesota. People aren't very political here. Lots of wide open spaces, forests, and lakes. Winters are harsh but if you like winter sports, there's plenty of things to do there, winter or summer. Clean air, friendly people.

Yes, a car is invaluable asset.

If you don't have one, get one..

(As a prepper, i would usually go for something that can do decent off road, something i can live out of short term.

I bought an SUV, whose seats can fold down in the back, into a perfect amount of space to hold a single bed.

Roof racks, a back up storage container..

Solar panels, they have survived on my suv for 2 years, quickly done and cheaply.

I stick a fan in the middle to trade air, powered by hidden solar panels..

Look, I get where you're coming from but I have made several different comments already about my skills in construction, handyman/maintenance work and I've done roofing, painting, some carpentry, etc. That's not counting experience in food service, retail, tech support, graphic design, marketing, blog/web development and so on.

When I said I wanted somewhere homeless/vagrant friendly I meant places that would have missions or shelters in place where I could stay while looking for work. I've been homeless before and never asked a single person on the street for help other than getting meals at a soup kitchen and even then when I was in that situation I took every opportunity I could to volunteer to carry my weight.

Nowhere did I say I wanted to be a leech or a boon on society. Though I appreciate your bluntness, I did need to clarify that for you because I feel you are seriously misunderstanding what I'm saying here and perhaps that is my fault so I hope that clears things up a bit.

Re: I need to get away, got money saved up and ready to make a big escape soon.
Go to hawaii. put 5k down on some cheap land on the big island, if you look you can find cheap acre lots covered in only a thin crust of lava that can be broken up and deep fertile soil below. Build a cheap off grid shack and stick a HEPA filter in there for VOG if you buy anywhere southwest of volcano (such as oceanview estates) With even 5k sqft lot you can grow all your own food an acre would make a nice homestead
