Cut the sugar and you will cut down the inflammation, which is REALLY what will kill you.

Not just muscle pain. They destroy muscle tissue. You will get weaker, and risk torn muscles the longer you take them.

I've seen some things in my family and friends.
One began to shake (an older person) tremors
Another had muscle pain (a younger man) that took a long time to go away

The fastest way to recover is obvious: eating lots of cholesterol foods! (which were never bad in the first place)

Cholesterol are the fire fighters, inflammation is the problem

Take "Tumeric" for the inflammation. It helps a lot of conditions across the board.

High serum cholesterol in the blood is not bad in itself. If the Cholesterol sticks to the arteries, then it is bad. I have moderately bad cholesterol level in my blood. I have had 2 "calcium scoring" tests which show the amount of Cholesterol buildup in your arteries. Both tests showed 0 buildup.

Doctor wanted to put me on Statins anyway. I told him "NO"!

They lower measured cholesterol levels by making it stick to vascular walls instead of floating freely, exactly what you don't want to avoid cardiovascular disease.

Re: Statins are gonna kill you eventually. They cause muscle pain, premature aging, memory loss, even cancer...
I have a first in office appt. with the cardiologist who did my emergency stent after having a heart attack less than two weeks ago. I've had my insurance deny two different 'scripts for statins, and quite honestly, I think that's divine intervention.

I do not want to take statins, and I've started taking serrapeptase to help with reducing the plaque....there are no other clogs in my ateries, but they are showing signs of constriction.

A client of mine told me about ezetimibe, the generic for Zetia, and I'm wondering if youse guyses have any personal experience about this drug. It is not a statin, and is used in concert with a statin. I'm hoping to use it in concert with the serrapeptase with be efficient in lowering my levels.

I suppose what I'm hoping is that the doc will approve of this without too much argument.

I know I do not have to take anything I don't want to, but my cholesterol readings are very high, and I so do not want to have another heart attack. It hurts really, really bad to have a heart attack.

I'm also totally changing up my diet more to plant based foods, and I'm going to start walking very soon. I know that's key to my health also.

Also, I do take in oils. I eat organic butter, I take CBD oil, black seed oil, and other oils, so I'm not so much concerned about not getting enough oils.

Can anyone here advise me? My appt. is in two hours, and I don't want to see him without being at least a bit educated.

Thank you....hf

It's a good idea to loose your sweet tooth.

It only takes a day or two.

Eat anything that isn't sweet that you want. (not even fruit) Especially when having a sweet craving.

You might even want to have some things around for those days.

Lets say you love bologna. Buy enough for those two days and eat it when having a sweet craving.

Then wean off the bologna. haha

I find I need to do this a few times a year, especially after holidays.

All the best to you. Effort to decide what is really right for you is what you have going for you. So many people just accept the doc's word blindly. I have a 55-year-old friend who just got on statins. Now I have to convince him to get off of them. His doc found his cholesterol too high and without any history of heart disease, my friend blindly accepted this doc's remedy. Sad.

IMO the first mistake is testing your cholesterol levels. hahaha

But maybe it does give you an idea if you have inflammation. maybe it doesn't though.

Everyone should be fighting inflammation.

Get off of bad fats and get off of bad carbs and get off of bad proteins.

Examples of bad fats: rapeseed (canola) oil.
Examples of bad carbs: chips, sugar
Examples of bad proteins: meats with additives

Find a farmer where you can buy fresh eggs, fresh milk, fresh meat. Farmers can be found on realmilk dot com

Cosmic Gypsy, I often wonder if people have an upset mineral balance that sets off heart attacks.

You know, the same way we get a foot cramp, except it is in the muscle of the heart.

It can't hurt to think about whether you are getting all the needed electrolytes. Magnesium, Potassium are chronically low in so many. And good old water can be low too causing cramping.

Just thoughts for you, hth

Well, just watching this alone has given me much to say when I go to see the cardiologist. I am going to ask for the particle test, for sure, because if I do not have an abundance of the bad particles, then I'm for sure not going to introduce a statin....I really don't want to take a statin.

I have been diagnosed with some kind of systemic inflammation, this has caused uncomfortable issues with my "toy box"....and that's while I take two supplements that reduce inflammation for about three years, turmeric and red micro algae...but to be painfully honest, I had been eating too much sugar. I'm cutting back on that like tightly pulling the reins on a galloping horse....WHOA, girl!

I had one gyn want to send me to a special vagina clinic - harhar, that's its name, the Vagina Clinic - over three hours away in Albuquerque, and another wanted to send me to Philadelphia to the premier specialist in vaginal issues....!!!!

I do not want to go that far....I do not think I should have to. While being honest, I know that I can cut back on my inflammation issue myself by lowering my sugar intake to just fresh fruit sugars. I have been tested as pre-diabetic for years now.

Thank you, lovey. Per blood tests my levels of those are within limits, but I also know I need to be more vigilant about EVERYTHING I'm putting in my mouth.

And actually, the Internist I see has just ordered a comprehensive metabolic panel, so that will be more revealing. I haven't done the tests yet because I wanted to see what the cardiologist wanted to order, too. I just saw the Internist last Friday, so I'm not waiting too long.

Also, I have been getting strange cramps in my second toe over from my littlest toe, on both feet. That just started about a month ago. That hurts....I mean, the toes do get all jacked up/pinched up looking while it happens. I do have issues with my lumbar, but I don't intuitively feel it's from there.

I'm going to see what the tests being ordered reveal, and thank you very much for your post!

Re: Statins are gonna kill you eventually. They cause muscle pain, premature aging, memory loss, even cancer...
In actual, unbiased, studies, there was practically no benefit to statins. Statins do increase calcium deposits in coronary arteries. People that have been taking statins for a while will have coronary artery calcium scores that that generally only appear in people that have already died of heart disease. When my father-in-law died, his score would have been about 1500, and he hadn't taken the statins for 3 years before he died. My brother was on them for seven years, and hit 1400! We are working to reverse the damage now.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Research cardiologist Dr. William Davis, he wrote the book "Wheat Belly" . I followed his blog years ago before he wrote the book. Mostly using dietary interventions he was able to lower people's calcium score and inflammation

He claimed to have virtually zero recurrence of Heart attacks among his patients.

I'm not sure what all the book addresses as I haven't read it but it's well rated.

I know he had a protocol for osteoporosis and calcium build up in the arteries, he said it was two sides of the same coin. Calcium being deposited in the arteries instead of the bones. I passed this along to a friend with osteoporosis and after a couple years he said it was the first time ever the osteoporosis had not progressed.

Also, eilonwy is posting some good advice

Cut the sugar and you will cut down the inflammation, which is REALLY what will kill you.

Thank-You very much. Tell me what is safe to use as a substitute for sugar and I will eat it instead, starting today.

I use organic erythritol. It has a zero on the glycemic index.

It's a bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it, and I just don't use that much sugar to begin with.

This is where I order it and most all of my supplements--

Sugar alcohols are great for sweet taste, but can cause gastric issues. The gummie bear challenge is a great wexample of this. I use liquid Splenda most of the time since it has less bitter aftertaste. Monk fruit is good, but the powders often have sugar alcohols in them.

Every person I know who was put on statin drug has had a personality change.

My dad was the most calm person I know.
Statin... Dad became anxious and had no patience!

Husband same thing.
Statin.. Hubby got anxious.. I warned him not to go with the anxious feeling cuz it's the statin driving it.
