Re: Statins are gonna kill you eventually. They cause muscle pain, premature aging, memory loss, even cancer...
I have a first in office appt. with the cardiologist who did my emergency stent after having a heart attack less than two weeks ago. I've had my insurance deny two different 'scripts for statins, and quite honestly, I think that's divine intervention.

I do not want to take statins, and I've started taking serrapeptase to help with reducing the plaque....there are no other clogs in my ateries, but they are showing signs of constriction.

A client of mine told me about ezetimibe, the generic for Zetia, and I'm wondering if youse guyses have any personal experience about this drug. It is not a statin, and is used in concert with a statin. I'm hoping to use it in concert with the serrapeptase with be efficient in lowering my levels.

I suppose what I'm hoping is that the doc will approve of this without too much argument.

I know I do not have to take anything I don't want to, but my cholesterol readings are very high, and I so do not want to have another heart attack. It hurts really, really bad to have a heart attack.

I'm also totally changing up my diet more to plant based foods, and I'm going to start walking very soon. I know that's key to my health also.

Also, I do take in oils. I eat organic butter, I take CBD oil, black seed oil, and other oils, so I'm not so much concerned about not getting enough oils.

Can anyone here advise me? My appt. is in two hours, and I don't want to see him without being at least a bit educated.

Thank you....hf

I stopped taking statins in 2005, I still haven't recovered, and haven't made much progress.

Taking turmeric w/black pepper, a multi-vitamin, and kratom.

When all my cholesterol numbers were near zero, doc insisted I keep taking it. I now refuse to discuss taking statins with doctors.

I have taken them before, but probably not for about six months. I'm going to get some tomorrow at Sprouts.

To be brutally honest, my heart situation is a little beyond just taking some Omega 3 6 9 to fix it. My inflammation issues are difficult...that's what I need to tackle most of all right now, the systemic inflammation I have. I am going after it in so many ways, I just need time for my body to catch up with what my mind knows to do and is doing.

I am adding it back in tomorrow, though. Thank you....hf

An anesthesiologist told me a couple of times that statin drugs are the worst class of drugs out there.

He also said they "lower cholesterol and cause heart attacks."

Posted this earlier, not sure if you saw it:

Research cardiologist Dr. William Davis, he wrote the book "Wheat Belly" . I followed his blog years ago before he wrote the book. Mostly using dietary interventions he was able to lower people's calcium score and inflammation

He claimed to have virtually zero recurrence of Heart attacks among his patients.

I'm not sure what all the book addresses as I haven't read it but it's well rated.

I know he had a protocol for osteoporosis and calcium build up in the arteries, he said it was two sides of the same coin. Calcium being deposited in the arteries instead of the bones. I passed this along to a friend with osteoporosis and after a couple years he said it was the first time ever the osteoporosis had not progressed.

Also, eilonwy is posting some good advice

I've seen some things in my family and friends.
One began to shake (an older person) tremors
Another had muscle pain (a younger man) that took a long time to go away

The fastest way to recover is obvious: eating lots of cholesterol foods! (which were never bad in the first place)

Cholesterol are the fire fighters, inflammation is the problem
 Quoting: Eilonwy

Take "Tumeric" for the inflammation. It helps a lot of conditions across the board.

High serum cholesterol in the blood is not bad in itself. If the Cholesterol sticks to the arteries, then it is bad. I have moderately bad cholesterol level in my blood. I have had 2 "calcium scoring" tests which show the amount of Cholesterol buildup in your arteries. Both tests showed 0 buildup.

Doctor wanted to put me on Statins anyway. I told him "NO"!
 Quoting: Lacey Underall

Dont forget to take Black Pepper with the Turmeric as in increases absorption.

There are a couple good points and more powerful approaches, but there are gentler add ins that help. Motherwort, ginger, maybe hawthorne - the heart is one of the most touchy organs, but some really custom and beautiful formulas can be made up and used 3 or 4 times a day if they wanted. Effects can be regional too, maybe adding spirulina for sure if out here or goldenseal in another place.
But if what you have tried is not doing it, then maybe its not enough of the right things and regular old ones you might not think of will. All heart meds /should/ change as the heart improves or doesn't, not stay the same. If you got a pre-made cardio tea or extract, you could always add things specific to you.
Best wishes with that

"Another one is magnesium bicarbonate water, also easy, Milk of magnesia or magnesium hydroxide in seltzer water.

There are natural alternatives to pharma statins. A lot of people have had great succes with switching to red yeast rice, from a reputable source( there are fakes on the market). This in combination with turmeric and reishi mushrooms and resveratrol takes care of both the inflamation and the cholesterol."

^^^^^ideas like that, but maybe a little cayenne pepper, motherwort, ginko, nettle, fo-ti and vitamin c....you know your symptoms best, just stuff I would try if nonspecific inflammatiom was the chief complaint.

You folks have to realize that most doctors are borderline idiots. I know, Im one myself. Young Paki / Hindu kid gets out of high school and their doctor dad sends them to the Caribbean to get a quick scam degree in 3 years. Once they pass the boards by using STOLEN BOARD QUESTION BANKS, they are called "Doctor". They only know what the board questions they memorized contained. This is how the game is played. They dont need any college at all, just high school then fake med school. Think about this the next time you visit one of these idiots. BTW, surgeons are real doctors, the rest are suspicious quacks.

Fast now and again, skip breakfast and let your body re-establish it's proper function to digest you own body fats.

If you are fat, you have never used this natural function for years probably.

In fact, skip breakfast, skip lunch and enjoy a normal dinner in the evening and feel like a chap.

Not just muscle pain. They destroy muscle tissue. You will get weaker, and risk torn muscles the longer you take them.

Same here. And you should have seen all the fuss when I showed up with a broken bone that needed fixing over 15 years ago and the hospital wanted a 'medical history.' lol I didn't have one, hadn't been to a doctor for any condition since my college days - and that was more decades prior than I'd want to admit.

If I want fresh bread, I'll automatically throw a bread sponge together in a bowl and get some started. If I get sick, I'll just as automatically start putting together a remedy or two. I just don't know any better.:) But when it comes to these DIY methods, I am completely open to learning new ones from all over the world; I've never got to the point where I think I know enough and stop learning.

Even 'orthodox' allopathic medicine has plenty of new research going on that's interesting enough to keep track of. A good doctor really needs both: clinical experience with sound scientific research and an understanding of our natural world and the infinite ways in which it provides for us.

Aspirin

[link to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov (secure)]

The human dose was about 2.8mg/ kg of body weight.
So one full sized aspirin a day for 5 weeks is plenty.

In the study they used an aspirin ester called aee which is about half as effective.
So stop the statin and CHEW an aspirin.

Now, the reason you have high cholesterol is the question.
High fat intake and low thyroid (t3) are probably the main cause.

Your brain in mostly cholesterol, and testosterone and other hormones are made from cholesterol. So a statin will screw you up long term.
