I don’t see the point. Next time just don’t bother to strike in retaliation. It’s a waste of money and ammunition if your just targeting empty shacks, and then claim they struck a Hamas position like it’s all important. Smh.

Bibi is the problem. He has a long term record of wanting the situation in Gaza to remain the same, without having to accept a 2 state solution, or allowing Palestinians to become Israeli citizens.

Netanyahu is risk averse, meaning he doesn't have the political stomach for IDF losses, AND he doesn't have faith in the IDF as an "army". He's a special ops guy who sees rank and file troops as weak and incompetent. Netanyahu believes covert ops are the ONLY way to conduct war because rank and file troops are a path to bad publicity if they don't perform as war heroes.

So, nothing will change until Netanyahu is replaced bv a real hardliner someday and a bunch of Israelis are hurt by rockets.

Because they have to create fake conflict to keep their own citizens from overthrowing them duh

I hate to say this because I do like Bibi. However, under his administration Israel has been losing it’s deterrent strength. I hope he’s replaced April 9th with a strong leader who’s not mired in scandal. A leader who can think outside the box and who is capable to make tough decisions.

He’s trying to appease the world so they will like Israel. He’s wasting his time. Most of the world doesn’t like Israel and that isn’t going to change. He needs to do what’s right for Israel regardless of what the world thinks. Bibi has clearly shown he’s not that person.

So you think his goal is to look like he's about to deal with Hamas, but never actually give the order, preventing loss of IDF? Or do you think he's gonna try to have an invasion occur and carry on into election day? I'm not sure how any of this helps him honestly.


I honestly do not know. I know his goal, but not how he believes he will accomplish it.

According to my friend who lives there, they have now a new ministry of defense who is considerably more hawkish than the previous one.

I like him too, but he's not tough on security like some people inaccurately think. He has a community there in Sderot where school children are routinely rushed into bomb shelters. Same with Ashkelon, and others. Those citizens of Israel were promised safety and security if they were willing to live there at discounted real estate prices. This is the reality. Those people made a deal to create a community and Bibi is letting them live in terror.

Nobody expects an Israeli leader to be inhumane and "wipe out Gaza". But Israelis under fire do want a leader who is tough enough to topple Hamas, and force a final resolution from a position of strength. Whatever combination of arrangements needs to be made has to be made without Hamas.

If a Palestinian state is required to satisfy the world, then fine do it. Be tough on security with the new Palestinian state, and treat it the same as Gaza. No mercy if Israel is attacked.

Netanyahu wants to expand the borders of Israel, maintain Jewish majority, and won't accept Palestinians as citizens. He also won't remove Hamas and give them a state.

He's boxed himself into a corner where he has no options. Israel needs a more realistic leader who knows Hamas must be taken out, followed by a final two state solution. That's the only way.

By having the IDF sit there on the border, he has satisfied the hawkish portion of the electorate. By not having them do anything he has satisfied the peace loving 2 state solution advocates in Israel. He's on a balancing line, but as time goes on, he's revealing himself to be weak on security in the end, and that's going to hurt him politically, and spark the response of electing a more hawkish government when he is gone.

So much truth you write. He really needs to be replaced. Certainly Israel needs someone who will take out Hamas once and for all. No peace as long as Hamas is running things - and Hamas creates all the misery for the rest of the people there, though Israel takes the blame.

I cannot imagine what he is going to do to stay in power this time - the people are so tired of him and his larcenous ways! And I have no doubt are equally exhausted with his push-pull attitude and actions toward Gaza. Something has to give, and I do hope it's Bibi, so someone will actually handle business and get the job done.

You know, if me and a group of my buddies decided one night to start launching rockets from my home state of New Jersey across the Hudson River into New York City, it would take about five minutes for a literal ARMY of police to be converging on the launch points.

Not only could I expect maybe ten THOUSAND New York City cops, but literally THOUSANDS of New Jersey Cops from every city, town, village, county and the state police too.

Heck, I imagine the NYPD would be streaming through the Lincoln Tunnel, the Holland Tunnel, and Across the George Washington Bridge right into New Jersey to go after the perps. They wouldn't even think twice about jurisdiction; they'd be coming to kick the ass of the people launching rockets into their city!

And if they couldn't find, or stop, the launches, the Governors of both New York and New Jersey would:
1) Call-up their National Guard, AND;
2) Call the White House to get US military support ASAP.

I suspect that in under an hour from the Governor's calls, (about as long as it took on 9-11) U.S. military attack helicopters and maybe even a couple fighter jets would be buzzing overhead.

And I can tell you those thousands of cops, National Guard Troops and military would not stop unless and until they either killed me and my buddies, or arrested every darn one of us.

And this is just if me and my pals did it ONCE, never mind every week like goes on in GAZA.

Of course I would never engage in such behavior and none of you should either. I'm just trying to make this point:

I have come to the conclusion that these attacks continue because the people in power over there WANT them to continue.

The attacks are useful to both sides. PROPAGANDA! It's useful to Israel who turns to America and pleads "send us more free aid money, we HAVE to defend ourselves." It's also useful to guys like Netanyahu who is now fending-off a corruption Indictment and has to stand for election in two weeks. He gets to tell Israeli's "Look, I'm being tough on these barbaric Arabs, you NEED me!" It's useful to the Arabs in Gaza who tell their fellow Arabs, "We're attacking the Zionist Oppressors, please send us more money, we're starving, we can't survive!" It's like two shakedown artists performing for "their" side, then living high on the hog from all the money that comes their way.


Notice how few people ever get killed in all this firing? Sure, some get killed. But nowhere near the scale one might expect if these rocket attacks were intent on accomplishing anything substantial. Even the Israeli military gives a "knock on the roof" of buildings they intend to destroy. A small projectile is dropped on the roof of the building and THAT is the warning to GET OUT NOW because in five minutes, a 500 pound bomb is coming. Who does that? If Israel is actually trying to FIGHT the people attacking them, WHO GIVES THE BAD GUYS 5 MINUTES WARNING?

I have come to the conclusion this is all theater. And I'm annoyed by it.
