Police in New Jersey warned the public about potential scammers after they caught a woman begging despite having designer clothes and a new iPhone X.
Union police posted a photo on Facebook of Dorina Caldaras, 34, panhandling while carrying a sign which contained a photo of a baby she claimed was hers.
Caldaras, who said she was from Romania, admitted to police she is among a group of women brought each day from Queens, New York to New Jersey to beg for cash.
Police said they found Caldaras along Vauxhall Road near Hilton Avenue just off I-78 west and she was j-walking in and out of traffic.
She was carrying a $500 purse, wearing jewelry, had a new iPhone X and 'did not appear to be in critical need of cash,' according to police.
Caldaras was wearing Michael Kors boots, had a Coach handbag and had her nails freshly painted.
