Sounds like the opinion of a stationary, towards nomads and those that like to wander.

probably the best name there's going to be for it but I think there's a subtle nuance that's a bit different it's just hard to put it into words.

I guess it's more like a general malaise or discontent with whatever you have, compounded by all kinds of emotional or psychotic features I'm sure

not really I don't think.

it's like if I had what I wanted from a celebrity's lifestyle, and then got it, I'd still be unhappy and want more.

Re: is there a name for the condition where you always think it's better to be somewhere else?
op, I've always had a kind of sense that I shouldn't be "here" (where ever I am) and that where ever I am is only temporary. That is, I am only passing through, so there is no sense in me putting down roots.

This typically includes kind of imagining or dreaming of being somewhere else that I am going to someday, a place that is not necessarily defined.

Is that similar to your experience?

That's an interesting feel I get from trying to picture that from your perspective. It's not quite the same feeling I have, but thanks for sharing since this solidifies in my mind that there are many facets to whatever condition this is.

nice, it's so sad though because once you age there's that sense that home you once knew is forever lost, that it'll never be the same again.

Nope,it's a curse. You gotta undo the curse, probably with a cauldron, some gizzards, few herbs. Should be OKAY.

From the link below:

"The hallmark of the “grass is greener syndrome” is the idea that there is always something better that we are missing. So rather than experiencing stability, security, and satisfaction in the present environment, the feeling is there is more and better elsewhere, and anything less than ideal won’t do. Whether it’s with relationships, careers, or where you live, there is always one foot out the door."
