Not saying you're wrong, OP. But in my opinion, the primary purpose of this event is to infuriate muzzeez somewhere in the world into retaliation, to do something as bad or possibly much worse than this event.

The intent being that the expected the wall-to-wall news coverage of whatever the retaliation might be...will serve to divert attention from something they don't want the masses to be aware of.
