The vans windows, of which there were only two, were darkened so dark you could not see in them. But the weirdest thing was that it had a grey latch on the drivers door to put a lock on from the outside. So that someone inside would not be able to get out. I couldn’t help but think why would someone need to lock the van from the outside unless they were trying to keep something in? Creepy or maybe someone has an explanation. Ummm. Big vans are usually work trucks... my father kept tons of expensive tools in his van ... the sliding door was broke and wouldn’t lock so he put a lock on it Explanatory |

Was it an older van? perhaps the locking mechanism is broken and they welded a hasp onto it and lock it at night with a combination lock? Hubby and I used to have a 55 Chevy pickup with side boxes and he had to weld the passenger door shut because it wouldn't stay closed and we either couldn't find or couldn't afford the lock mechanism.
