Bipartisan Bill to Decriminalize Pot
[link to thefreshtoast.com (secure)]

"Earlier this week, Representatives Tulsi Gabbard and Don Young introduced a measure entitled the Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2019, which would eliminate the cannabis plant from the confines of the Controlled Substances Act and give states the right to legalize the leaf however they see fit without concern about federal backlash. It is a push that would allow cannabis products to become a part of American commerce in the same way as alcohol and tobacco."

Weed should not be illegal, anyway. Law enforcement efforts are wasted on a simple herb, when law enforcement has bigger things to focus on. The justice system is too clogged up with stupid weed cases that real crimes are being overlooked.

it only took 2019 to start talking about ending prohibition. and and it's probably an uphill battle of mind fukery and add-ons if it ever gets to the Presidents desk.

They really screwed America's and the world's perception on weed didn't they. For years they hid the benefit of canibinoids. fucking criminal.

Lets hope this is the beginning of the end of the reefer madness. Forgive me if I expect .gov and RINO types like Ran Paul to ruin this too.

It would be great except for the fact that all this "cannabis legalization" is just a trap for gun confiscation, unfortunately, I wish it were otherwise. You have to ask yourself, do you really trust our corrupt, evil, blackmailed congress who have done everything possible to ruin this country to do something good "just for us" out of nowhere when they're still lying 24/7 worse than ever?!? If so, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

Yes, but the likelihood of this actually passing is pretty slim sadly!
Mitch is likely a pothead in private....but a vote has to be approved by him or it won’t even hit the senate floor. They should do something to help people especially since they have made Opiates practically impossible for Doctors to prescribe as they see fit....Leaving those people (myself included) to struggle with pain control even having an incurable debilitating disease. They’re forcing Doctors to cut patients prescribed amounts because the DEA and Federal Government thinks it’s too high of a dose !

They have to give a little, and the “opiate crisis” that kills a whopping
67K People per year out of 300 million is FAR LESS THAN ALCOHOL
Which they all use likely in excess ! Hoping for once they Allow Adults to decide what and if they put anything into their bodies ....being a free country and all, however this has become a Complete Nanny State .

Homegrown Cannabis saved my life. That said, Fuck Democrats. Put the cannabis legislation they want in a bill funding President Trump's wall.

Libtards get their cannabis and President Trump gets his wall.

p.s. Trump supporting liberals grow far better cannabis then their libtarded peers.

That's my biggest argument.

I fall into the libertarian political sect but with a conservative leaning.
Anyway my point is that keeping weed illegal is extremely inefficient on all fronts.

And I don't even use the stuff.

If it can benefit the individual, no matter what the bill is, it will not be passed. If it can benefit the government/corporate fascist state, it can and will be passed.

Nice to know that we have all lived to see the Sea Change on this issue.

Sad that so many aren't alive who could've had a better quality of life if it was legal.

I know a lot of people w/ various cancers, debilitating pain, etc and this is the one thing that works for them.

And news broke today of my state, NC, hosting farmers at the legislature where our own farm bill was signed, big chunks addressing hemp being legal now.

And you can bet your last dollar that Trump's number crunchers have passed along comprehensive report detailing cost savings in the judicial system, prison system, as well as new streams of revenue thus creating more jobs.
And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. That is what I call 'sustained incoherence.' ...David Bohm

2020 was talked about months ago for this to happen. Leave it up to states what they want to do but other then that they"federal" will care less.
