I got accepted @ UCLA years ago as a chemistry major after having done 2yrs of community college in the midwest. It was cool to have gotten accepted but I knew the real reason was about tuition and not my grades. So I went & visited, had some fun in LA for a couple of weeks then came home and enrolled in our state run Big Ten University. Hint: Go Green! |

THEY made the rules Mid 90's, they were still pushing post secondary on everyone. If you had the marks and were not going, you were deemed a failure or freak. The white male demonization was still in its early stages, and certainly they were being pushed into uni. in lock step with females. Maybe admissions were skewed towards females.. or maybe it varied depending on where you were. But in W. Canada, the propaganda was "go to university or starve." |
