right on time or maybe before time
Solar Minimum Surprise! AR2740 produced an M1 flare, six C-flares (including a C7.3) and numerous B-flares today. Definitely an unexpected treat for this low-activity part of the Solar Cycle.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77510936 Hello Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72354236 OMG I can comment again LoL RARE SOLAR RADIO BURST: Last month, sunspot AR2740 strafed Earth with loud shortwave radio bursts. It's doing it again. [ link to www.spaceweather.com] And something else... Ashcraft has been recording solar radio bursts for many years. Yesterday he picked up something new. "In the dynamic spectrum, note the 'feathery' upward drifting radio emissions," he says. "I've never seen anything like that--not even during solar maximum. This is auspicious and rare solar activity to be happening during the deepest time of solar sunspot minimum." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72354236 Yesterday, active sunspot AR2740 produced the strongest solar flare in more than a year--an M1-class eruption. Extreme ultraviolet telescopes onboard NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded a must-see movie of the blast [ link to www.spaceweather.com] Quoting: NOLAangel They said this yesterday... This sunspot is a big one (especially considering that we are in a deep solar minimum) Solar Minimum [ link to www.google.com (secure)] Geomagnetic Storm [ link to www.google.com (secure)] A little less of what we got going on now. Also been noting and taking screenshots of everything.... P.s. I got that berkey water filter system!
