Whether we are in a binary or trinary system, that other object never has to get very close for changes to happen. In fact, Mike FATW believes that it will look not much different than a normal star in the sky that is fast moving. However, in that passing it will have that sort of vampiric effect on our sun. Of course, as the video said that is not the only problem we have...the galactic waves are causing a lot of havoc on their own.
