What changed that made innovation stop?

The elite kept moving up.

The public got flatlined.

We only get their leftover secondhand shit.

They are 50 years ahead in everything.

Our latest gadgets are old obsolete shit to them.

Thats why they let us have them.

Much the same as we send old outdated shit to third world countries.

I believe that's one aspect of it but I think there's much more to it.

Prolonged Stagnation leads to Regression ,prolonged Regression leads Death. We are dying as a whole.We are Regressing because of so called leaders are merely Followers in leadership positions.
Way past time for real leaders to take their positions.

What's the point in innovating anything?

If you're a start-up with a paradigm shifting innovation, there's two things in your future:

1) Get bought out by a megacorporation threatened by your innovation and have your invention buried DEEP so that it'll never see light of day.

2) Get your innovation stolen by a megacorporation threatened by it. They steal it, claim a patent for it, and sell it as a crippled product to ruin its reputation. Even if you've patented it and choose to defend your patent, they'll violate the patent with impunity, and keep fighting you in courts until you're broke and destroyed. The very much prefer this latter course of action.

this is why in my honest opinion there are no good aliens



people on this planet are being actively suppressed, and ordinarily in the past you might have been able to feel a spirit of why things were like that, like perhaps whatever was in charge could be trusted, the path existed for people to get where they needed or whatever



but these days, the spirit is just nasty and you obviously can't really trust it, so the idea that this is somehow in humanities' interest, or the right path to be on right now etc is something I'd be needing to see proof of before I agreed at this point in time

Family units were once much stronger. That served as safety nets for most people struggling.. they had an inner circle of family they could turn to in crisis situations and fully trust. This gave them the luxury of being creative and productive members of society. Now, you can't really trust anyone. Most people barely get by pay check to pay check. No time for creativity, innovation.

I wonder what happens to those who grow up with parents who refuse to let their kids get dumbed down?

I take time to teach my kid what she isn't getting taught in schools. Critical thinking, mathematics and sciences beyond the inane school curriculum. Not in a formal way, of course, but whenever it is appropriate for what she's doing at the moment. For instance, how to estimate prices in your head instead of always having to bring out a pen or a calculator. Or, how to use a multimeter to check batteries or fuses. It sometimes gets me complaints from the school, because she doesn't always do things in the Approved Way, but screw them. She's not learning for the school, but for the life.

I've gently exposed her to different kinds of philosophies (Plato's allegories, the Golden Rule, fundamentals of Sartre's existentialism,...) and discussed them with her. I play all kinds of music at home, sometimes read selected parts of classics (Homer and other Greek epics, Shakespeare, Bhagavad Gita,...) with her, go out to nature with her, she learns photography with me, and so on. She gets a max of two hours of screen time (=phones, computers, tv) per day. The rest of the free time she spends with her friends. If she picks up something stupid from them, I let her go with it, but I ask her a few questions to make her think about it.

All on her own terms and at her level, but she seems to like it. Part of it is that her friends are impressed over her "knowing all kinds of weird shit".

I will not let her turn into a smartphone zombie or one of those human-like being whose raison d'être is to consume and obey - whose life's philosophy is hedonism and willful ignorance. I want her to be a well-rounded independent human being with a free will, curious mind, a functional brain, and a deep understanding of the humanity and nature.

I wonder how it'll play in this brave world where ignorance and shallowness are the new virtues.

At the height of the American, and Soviet space program they discovered that we are stuck on Earth mostly due to cosmic rays and shielding issues.
Also time dilation for travel and communication even with most FTL and anti gravity like propulsion.

Then the issue with the observable universe. They immediately became prison wardens because we are literally in a cage. And humans that discover they are caged animals begin to decay mentally.

It was moving too fast. So they locked it down. It actually happened around WWII but we don't see the absence until a few decades after cool down period. Relating to control, economics, and other factors. Everything there is to know, they know, unified theory, zero point, dimensions, what could essentially liberate mankind. It ain't gonna happen. Look what they did with Tesla and countless others who were not in the club, but smart enough to figure it out. Same rules apply today.

We are not ready for that kind of tech.

A (((created))) culture that fills young minds with cynicism, nihilism, materialism, hedonism, narcissism, negativity, hopelessness, anarchy... can't possibly be expected to bring forth many creative people who aspire to greatness.

That's why when you see the science project finalists in any majority-white high school, it's all asian and pakistani students.

Which brings us to the other reason - forced societal diversity. The asians and pakistanis retain most of their cultural, historical and familial norms and remain in closed societies even while living in America where they are a minority. While their communities remain insular, white communities are force-fed an influx of low IQ blacks and browns and told that diversity is their strength.

Who is to make that decision? And they use the tech, to make sure we are never ready for it.

Even without the basics of math and science the ability for kids to be creative and think outside the box has been stifled. Kids today are told to think within the guidelines of society and to never stray outside of it. If they do they are given a label.
Even before the great minds were great, they studied the world around us and tried to learn what it was doing. Davinci studied water dynamics to help him understand flight.
