Just as China is also the United States' largest trading partner.

Well yes but we're super powers and over 20% of China's economy by ourselves. We could crash China if we bit the bullet and stopped all trade.

But you're right in that China has cheap shit and Brazil, like america, buys the shit out of it. The dynamic is different though. America and China is a Mexican stand off when it comes to trade. It's mutually assured destruction.

In Brazil's case this is a chance to diversify its trade partners which is never a bad move.

Are you worried about inflation like what Argentina is experiencing?

I believe that Brazil will have an improvement in the economy, but in the coming years we will face problems again. To explain this would take a long time and would have to make a long development.

In fact, to explain what Brazil is today would have to return until 1822. Maybe well before this in 1500 in the kingdom of Aviz and go through the Philippine ordinations.

Nah im good on that. I could understand it faster just looking it up and reading the history. (As long as its not all in Portuguese)

I'm more curious about the social backlash from pulling away from having quite so many socialist programs. When its all ppl know, and all the countries leaders know, there can he some real growing pains in implementing a more capitalist economy.

I've tried to make a short development of the problem for you. It would take more time to develop each of these points but I think it gives you a general idea.

As I explained, the problem is not so much the social programs, which do not cost so much to the Brazilian government. The big problem is the civil service that consumes more than 90% of the public budget. Recalling that here in Brazil, if you take into account everything the government takes from the average worker like taxes and social security contributions, more than 75% is for the government.
