Re: Canadian Government Moves To Increase Taxes On Cannabis Products
no surprise
they did the same thing to cigarettes & beer

base price for a 25 pack of cigarettes (according to imperial tobacco canada) = $3.25 but the store prices after taxes is about $16.00

base price for a case of 24 bottles of beer (according to Labatts breweries canada) = $19.20 but the store prices after taxes is about $35.75

I knew weed would be the same. nothing but a big tax racket

That is mainly because we don't have our own (efficient) raw material transportation delivery system...'pipeline'...although we do have it directly from Norther Alberta (where all the main O&G companies are) directly to the US. So, we sell most of our raw materials to the states, they refine it and sell it back to us.

Solution...build the frikn pipeline that we paid for and build more refineries to refine OUR raw products. Jobs to build the pipeline (and maintain)...jobs to build a few refineries...plus export of our refined materials...would be a huge win for Canada.

Re: Canadian Government Moves To Increase Taxes On Cannabis Products
Trudeau promised to legalize POT during his campaign and the millenials ate it up. Now that Canada sees what this was truly all about, he is losing millenial support.

Now his new 'trick' to get millenials back is to offer them free loans to buy homes...5% for used, 10% for new. They have to pay back when they sell the house...but still.

I never got such a free ride when I was in my 20's...I had to work extra jobs to come up with my down payment for my first home.

Millenials of today do not understand the power of the dollar and the responsibilities that come with it. They think money grows on trees.

Cannabis trees? well, they may have a point. 1rof1
