Country singer Justin Carter dead at 35 after accidental shooting!

The incident occurred in Texas at Carter's apartment while the rising country singer was shooting a new music video. A gun being used on the shoot was brought to the apartment and discharged, killing Carter.

The video was being filmed in his apartment. Also according to the above, the gun wasnt his own, but bought to his place. It was loaded and yet it was ruled an "unfortunate accident". Weird

Safeties can not be engaged unless the weapon is cocked. A cocked and magazine-unloaded weapon is useless. Many concealed weapon carriers believe condition 1 to be quick and safe--and best carry condition.

*Condition 0 — Magazine inserted, round in the chamber, safety off.
For SA/DA — Hammer is back.

Condition 1 — Magazine inserted, round in the chamber, safety on.
For SA/DA — Hammer is back.

Condition 2 — Applies to Single-Action/Double-Action primarily. This is a magazine inserted, round in the chamber, hammer forward. For revolvers, it would be rounds inserted into cylinder, cylinder locked into place, hammer forward.

Condition 3 — Magazine inserted, no round in the chamber.
For SA/DA — Hammer is forward.

Condition 4 — No magazine inserted, no round in the chamber.
For SA/DA — Hammer is forward.
For SA/DA revolvers — Hammer is forward, cylinder is clear of all rounds.

Condition 4 is considered safe for transport in a range environment. Some ranges have looser restrictions than others but all across the board – Condition 4 is always a good idea until you are given permission by the range safety officer (or ordinances governing the range) to proceed from Condition 4 to 1/0.

Well I had never heard of him so I went to YouTube. Looks like he was one of these new r&b/ rap country type artists. They seem to produce their own videos a lot. You can usually tell by the quality of girl they use in them. I was at a huge barbeque one time where some guys like this were filming their video. It was just a big drunk fest party. There would really be no need to pocket carry at a video shoot. I dont mean to speak bad of the dead but I assume they were just being careless with a weapon that should be respected 100%

Probably carried it upside down in a pocket, because it sat there better that way, and he didn't want to poke a hole in the bottom of the pocket with the barrel.

But if it was a prop gun, those are usually given to the actors specifically in the scene where they use it, not for the day where at some time they will use the gun. And not in a way that they might forget about having it. He probably treated it like a wallet, and forgot he had it on him. Now, if he had an AR-15 it's unlikely that he would have forgotten he had it on him.

Sorry you don't like women, but you are not going to chase me off with your insults, so just take a chill pill. I don't know why you get the idea I am 2nd amendment because I am not. I just think that carrying around a loaded gun with the safety off in your pocket is pretty stupid, as can be attested by this death. Kind of like that lady who had one in her purse and went to Walmart with the kid, who was sitting in the cart seat digging through her purse, and you can guess the rest. Stupid is as stupid does. But hey, if YOU want to carry your loaded firearm in your front pocket with the safety off, be my guest.
