North Carolina Earthquake?

I felt nothing here in Michigan

Thread: was there just an earthquake in central north Carolina?

A 2.2 was logged about a 1/2 hour ago....

seems to have rattled more than a few people for just a shallow 2.2... is usgs downgrading shit again like retards?

it was freaky. grtting chills just thinking about it. I lived in los Angeles for a while and experienced several trimmers. this was different

77 "Did you feel it?" reports on USGS for a measly 2.2 at 1 in the morning? Something isn't making sense here

Yes, I heard and felt it, very loud!! On the local news.

I've never experienced an earthquake before. It was very strange. Low rumbling, heard it come closer (louder) and then everything shook.

False alarm, turns out it it was just caused by Rosie O'Donnell slipping getting out of the tub

i'm surprised anyone felt a 2.2, unless it was some kind of nuke in a DUMB that was shallow.

I'm in Northern Cal and we don't usually feel anything unless it's a 4 or more.

From comments on FB I would say it's at least a 60 mile radius that have reported feeling/hearing it. Very strange.

....and there was another quake, too. As per WRAL..."A second 2.6 magnitude earthquake was reported at about 12:30 p.m. near Sylva, in Jackson County. That earthquake occured about .08 kilmeteres below the earth's surface."

A boom? It was extremely loud, like an explosion. Similar to a Cannon ball sound with an echo like sound wave after the initial boom. Wasn't like a gunshot, it was distinctly different. My husband said it was a transformer blowing up but no power outages were reported in our area. I told him I saw a flashing light before the boom, my son did too."

there have been several quakes in eastern tennessee in the past 6 months. ,ore in the past 6 months than the past 6 decades. Something is not right. We are too far from the new madrid fault I think there is another unknown fault in the area that is waking up. If a big one hits here it is close enough to the new madrid to possibly set it off as well

You didn't feel that one a few years back that happened in DC? I damn sure did but not this one.

Exactly this. Still, based on the number of "felt" responses, I'm sure it was also downgraded as other have mentioned.
