I’ve never in my life heard of a prosecutor making a deal where they say the person has good community service record and will drop all charges if they can keep the bail money and will seal all records of the case so no one can really know what happened in an open and shut case while this same prosecutor had to recuse herself from the original investigation due to having numerous private conversations with smollett a family and being friends.

This requires a federal FBI investigation, she can go to jail with smollett. Our justice system has been turned into a complete and utter joke by liberals. This country is officially a banana republic

First Assistant State’s Attorney Joseph Magats said the decision to drop the charges should not be interpreted that Smollett did not do what police and prosecutors have alleged — pay his assailants to fake the attack and then falsely report the incident to police.

Nor did dropping the charges mean that Smollett was a victim of a crime, Magats said emphatically.

“Absolutely not.

We stand behind the CPD investigation done in this case, we stand behind the approval of charges in this case,” Magats told the Sun-Times.

You know this entire thing was done only to seal the case. They desperately wanted the case and all the evidence sealed because it extended beyond smollett and into politicians spheres. Smollett would not accept responsibility or plead guilty even if they gave no jail time so they relented and let him walk without even so much as apologizing or accepting guilt and then simultaneously sealed all police evidence regarding this case from ever seeing the light of day covering it all up. If you dropped the charges why would you seal up the evidence, most of which was not public knowledge yet according to police only a tiny sliver of the case was made public so far.
