The Italian economy did better under the fascists than it has under the European Union.

Mussolini was quite well thought of in circles in the US and Europe both. There was much investment in both Italy and Germany. People were saying about Italy "At least the trains run on time," commenting on the order which Mussolini's scheme had bought. Then suddenly Germany and Italy were the enemy, and Mussolini was bad news.

I am not defending Mussolini particularly, just pointing out that sometimes it's friends one day, enemies the next in international politics.

Since this is a proven fact, tell me when our government was lying about Mussolini, before or after?

At this late date, I think we will never know the real truth of what transpired during the WWII period.

I personally think it is best to investigate as best possible and form your own opinions. The government press and media are not the most accurate source at times.
