People here think its funny. The government pockets the money and the citizens never see a penny.

There are no social help programs. What is here is privately funded.

Doctors without Borders bring down medical supplies and work endlessly with very sick patients.

Orphanages, dog rescues, etc are almost entirely foreigner funded. There are no government programs.....

Although, perhaps it pays for the police somewhat?

Roads are horrible and nearly non-existent in some areas. Firemen are volunteer (and amazing).

People die of simple illnesses. Kids eat bags of chips for dinner. The water is full of bacteria and parasites.

As a citizen that pays US taxes though I live here, there's really no point to be sending it.

The rich just get richer and more educated in how to screw over the average citizens.
