Ouch...you really don't know if the tick gave you some sort of gift so your options for peace of mind are few:

1. if you saved the blood sucker then send it to a lab, let them tell you what they find (nothing, Lyme, Rocky Mountain, the new one involving red meat allergy) so on...

2. you don't have the tick now then either go to the doc for a diagnosis...this might involve a very expensive blood test which insurance might pay part of if something's found...but you will pay all of if nothing's found...plus the costs of the doctor and meds, and follow ups...

3. you can skip the doc and go straight to the lab (anylabtestnowdotcom) and pay for the very expensive blood test out of your own pocket...then, at least you'll know if a doctor's visit is needed.

4. you can do nothing but wait to see what happens, perhaps you were able to catch the bugger before it had time to exchange spit for blood...but for the next six months you'll be wondering if that aching elbow, ankle, knee, etc is from the tick or just a low-pressure system blowing in.

For instance, look up online pictures of Rocky Mountain Spotted fever & Lyme's which often forms a "target" like rash around the circumference of the bite.

The most important hint to do is see a doctor who specializes in treating Lyme disease. After years of undiagnosed symptoms and joint damage I had to take rotations of various antibiotics and numerous supplements. I was able to beat it with no reoccurrence of symptoms for approximately fifteen years now.

if i ever got lyme then i would try to treat it with colloidal silver, it kills any fungus, bacteria and virus... might be worth looking into take a probiotic too, it cured my shingles, my husband no longer gets fever blisters either. see if its right for you
