The ISS is only 250 miles from the surface of Earth, so although it is in Space, it is hardly near Outer Space.

Dozens of books out there written by former military officers who are involved in the contact with aliens here on this planet. I've read over 50 books on the subject. You really should realize life elsewhere may not even remotely resemble life on earth or require what we require to exist such as water. Hell there is a good chance that life exists in the vacuum of space itself completely non terrestrial just floating about.

Well, I tried.

I'm sure when they choose to fully reveal themselves to all of humanity they won't be talking about the dozens of signs and proofs of their existence they tried to show us along the way to see if we were paying attention. They won't just show up in a way that people can still question their existence.

I'm sure they'll do it in a very visible, visceral and easily provable way. They'll do some super funky ET stuff we clearly cannot do and that'll be it for any but the most hardcore skeptics.

Blocking of a sun for a bit of time comes to mind.
Or a very unmistakable landing.
Perhaps a combo of both.
