CHEAP considering all iodine does for you. most natural practitioners say 96% are woefully deficient. So you need a build up period, then after that 10mg per day or so is the Japanese average, and they get far less cancer than we do, and they tend to stay healthier into old age. you can find iodine test kits to take to see how much of a build up you need (some need to take 50 mg for months before they reach a good level), but TOO MUCH iodine is bad for you. myself, I just always wing it. take double doses for a month or so, then 10 mg per day, and sometimes forget to take it for a week or three, then take twice a day for a while, no matter, I am sure I have a much healthier level than 96% of my fellow citizens. I also almost never eat iodized, caked, baked, ruined "regular" table salt. I buy the 5lb containers of pink salt at Costco, and also pick up Mediterranean or Celtic sea salt from amazon, and also once in a while, Real Salt from the store. |

You can no longer buy this on amazon. Lugol's drops can be added in water and consumed, don't take with Vitamin C-- try this-- add some drops in water -- it will turn it light maroon, add in some C and instantly clear. Iodine was mandated by law to be added to table salt as a way to increase IQ levels-- back when we didn't want a country of retards. Yes-- without iodine a growing fetus will have lower IQ Adding iodine to table salt was said to have increased the average IQ in the US 10 points If you are older you probably are familiar with the word "Cretin" which used to be a way to describe an idiot. It comes from the Alps where the soils are very lacking in iodine having been washed away as in the midwest where the last ice age took the iodine out of the soils hence the term "Goiter Belt" iodizing salt fixed that. Several books are available, one is "The Iodine Crises" by Lynn Farrow The problem with iodized salt is that iodine evaporates. So, iodized table salt is not stable and will not fix an iodine problem. All pregnant women should be taking iodine for the sake of their child's IQ Iodine is essential for metabolism, and hormones-- breast cancer is linked to a lack of iodine as are thyroid problems. These are the ones over 100 average IQ Hong Kong and Singapore 108, South Korea 106, Japan and China 105, Taiwan 104, Italy 102, Iceland, Mongolia and Switzerland 101. You could link that to a diet higher in iodine -- Remember Fluoride blocks iodine and think about this-- what areas in the world have naturally high levels of fluoride in the water and what areas of the world add Fluoride to their water. Fluoridation is banned in China. Naturally high fluoride levels in water are a serious problem in China. Due to naturally-occurring fluoride, both skeletal and dental fluorosis have been endemic in India in at least 20 states, including Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.[34] The maximum permissible limit of fluoride in drinking water in India is 1.2 mg/L,[35] and the government has been obligated to install fluoride removal plants of various technologies to reduce fluoride levels from industrial waste and mineral deposits. The presence of aluminum fluoride in the brain has been linked to Alzheimer’s. Fluoridated Drinking Water Doubles the Risk of Hypothyroidism Fluoride, especially when added to drinking water, nearly doubles the risk of developing hypothyroidism. (8) Fluoride binds with iodine receptors in the thyroid, displacing iodine. And when there isn’t adequate iodine available, the thyroid can’t synthesize thyroid hormones. (9) And that is bad news for your brain. Brain fog, memory loss, lack of focus, depression, anxiety, and other cognitive and mental health issues are some of the most problematic side effects of thyroid disorders. An Increase in Rates of ADHD Is Linked to Fluoride Rates of ADHD skyrocketed about the same time that fluoridation of water supplies was on the rise in the United States. Fluoride Is Found in Antidepressants and Causes Depression If you are one of the millions of people taking Prozac, you may have noticed that the generic name for Prozac is fluoxetine. It’s not a coincidence that the name sounds a lot like fluoride. Some of the most commonly prescribed drugs contain significant amounts of fluoride, including antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs. OK....for anyone stillhere, think about this-- where do we add fluoride in the US? (Major Cities) where are the democrats located? Why do the farmer's and people living on well water in the country support Trump? Places in the world like cities and countries with naturally high levels of fluoride are less likely to be creative thinkers and rebel. Easily influenced and controlled-- think about it-- And back to iodine-- it will detox that fluoride.... "You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... It assures me that I'm getting my daily dose along with my regular diet which also has some in it but varies. 600 mcg a day is NOT "too much", unless you have a medical condition like Graves Disease.
