BREAKING: The House votes to end American involvement in the Yemen war. Trump expected to veto.
Rejecting a plank of President Donald Trump’s foreign policy, the House on Thursday invoked never-before-used powers to demand that his administration withdraw support from the Saudi-led war in Yemen . The Senate passed the same resolution in March with bipartisan support.

Trump is expected to issue a veto of the measure , his second as president, and Congress does not have the votes to override him. But the action was nonetheless a milestone for lawmakers, who have shown a renewed willingness to assert their war-making powers after letting them atrophy for decades under presidents from both parties.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican who championed the measure, said it “is long past time that we end U.S. involvement in this unauthorized, unjustified, and immoral war that has caused immense human suffering.”

So why does Trump, who has repeatedly claimed that he opposes all endless and needless wars, not happily sign off on what his Congress has decided?

Fun Fact - Yemen has more guns per capita than anywhere in the world, and they use them. Why? War is big business.

That's totally what we voted for! More wars in places of absolutely no consequence to the U.S. while surrendering without a fight to Mexico.

But...Trump will veto and keep the our border open.

Re: BREAKING: The House votes to end American involvement in the Yemen war. Trump expected to veto.
Last week, the US Senate voted in favour of ending Washington’s support for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen where 14 million people live on the brink of famine. The historic measure passed the Republican-controlled Senate by a margin of 54 to 46. The vote was the latest indicator of how attitudes regarding the Yemeni civil war have changed among the foreign policy establishment due to both strategic and moral factors.

The vote is illustrative of a political rift on Saudi-related issues that is widening between the US administration and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Although Trump is unpredictable, it seems quite safe to bet that he will veto this bill when it arrives on his desk, assuming the House of Representatives passes the legislation. Like his top diplomat Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton, Trump views the Yemeni Civil War through a Saudi lens and endorses Riyadh’s narratives about the Houthi rebellion and Iran’s hand in the conflict.

Trump’s inner circle believes that a continuation of US support for the Saudis and Emiratis in Yemen advances America’s national security interests.

OK, so here is how the shills are trying to justify Trump's veto and continuing military involvement in Yemen and unquestioning support of Saudi Arabia.

"YEMEN IS A NOTHING COUNTRY THAT MEANS NOTHING TO NOBODY"

Thread: For Politics Dems are using Yemen as their line in the sand for why America should pull out of foreign wars.

Trump didn't, Obama did. Who are the Saudi's fighting in Yemen? Iran. Our involvement is just a small group to support the Saudi's. Let them put a hurtin on Iran, whose burning through the cash Obama and Kerry gave them, making the sanctions hurt even more.

I traveled to Egypt in 2011 and sat next to young man of Yemeni descent who was traveling back to Yemen to visit some family members. He was a very cool guy — super friendly. He mentioned how everyone in Yemen hated the Saudis. He said they were basically Stuck-up Assholes. I can’t believe Trump helping the Saudis terrorize these people.

Re: BREAKING: The House votes to end American involvement in the Yemen war. Trump expected to veto.
Here's the story on Yemen:

Yemen's been broken for a long time, no real government. After Obama gave the Iranians (literally) tons of cash, the Iranians got the idea to move into Yemen. Saudi Arabia and Egypt didn't like it and decided to do their own policing instead of asking us (U.S.) to do it. Obama sent in a small support group to help. Trump's kept them there. I don't have a problem with it because the Saudi's and Egyptians are doing their own dirty work and making the Iranians burn through the cash.
