In fact, there is more of a meth, heroin, oxy, cocaine problem around here than anything.. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75700326 I agree. Yeah the opiate problem in Canada is crazy. It's brutal I agree. I literally hire chubby potheads, over twitchy in-shape dudes. Much easier to deal with occasional bouts of laziness and lack of attention to detail. Much easier. We, Grandpa and Grandma get to see our kids and grand kids and great grand kids more often also brothers and sisters Usually every two months we have visitors. I know some of them use marijuana and I hope they don't get caught taking it home with them out of state. Also from where I am from I have seen that people who have learning issues and don't use drugs have a better chance in finding and holding a job. I believe it is a side effect because of the attitudes and the marijuana culture. People in the drug culture are more prone to loosing their jobs. Some people at work here will argue with job supervisors and tell them that marijuana is legal and they smoke it anyway when supervision is absent. |

All that being said legal weed has actually ruined Colorado. It has brought all the scumbags and idiots who were too stupid to find weed in their own states, to come here live in the streets and in rest areas, even with their kids, just to smoke weed legally. It has stifled normal business growth, attracting people who want to get in on the "green rush" and invest millions into dispensaries, when we need regular businesses, such as restaurants and stores. There is a dispensary on every corner and they mostly serve out of town people who come here to pick up their weed and then drive back to their state. It has created a black market for people to bring weed across state lines back to their state and sell it. There's 2 solutions here, either revert and make it all illegal again, or just legalize it nationwide. Creating this border where people can cross freely to circumvent a law has brought out the literal worst people in the country and now they are all here. These people should be spread out all over the country, not all packed into one state. I can't speak for Colorado, but it has had no impact here in Washington state. If anything, it has lowered the crime statistics associated with the plant. The regulation is the key. You don't want totally free markets without oversight and too much oversight defeats the purpose of what competition brings. Washington has a good system. They have basically killed the black market. You can now get an ounce of top shelf bud for $100 at the retail stores. A price unattainable on the streets. So you are okay with the Seattle video? Was that video in this thread accurate? There's enough stupid and lazy in the country, we don't need to dumb everyone down more by acting like it's simply alcohol and making it legal everywhere. Before we moved to a new place I called the crime stats for this area. The woman doing this for 35 years said NEW types of crime have shown up in the last 3 years since CO legalized pot. There's a new kind of filth running around active all night. Crude, disgusting people ruining neighborhoods. We're seeing LOTS of meth, mental illness, many from the southeastern states. Bedbugs, scabies, trash thrown all over, vomit, dealers, theft, breakins cars and homes, panhandlers on just about every corner who are obviously not from here. Violent crime, however is not on the list as of yet. The $$ given to house the homeless never quite reaches the homeless with expensive (25m dollar project to house 41 residents not including future upkeep_). Do gooders NEED the homeless. The more the merrier because it's more $$ for them. I don't recognize this town anymore. The cops have their hands full, and tell me the only way to find some semblance of normalcy is to leave to a nearby town. These bas*ards are given cellphones, new clothing and backpacks, tarp, a monthly food and cash card, (lots of ambulance and ER service, free medical) and trash everyplace they pass through. I could go on.. but yes.. nationalize the legalization of pot so these people get to plague other states instead of just ours. |
