Spinning plate, thats funny! We need a visual of what a tonne of gold looks like.is it the same as a ton? 2000lbs? How much does a brick way? Whats it to be used for, batteries, explosives, high tech. What value does gold actually hold?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73589905 The value is in the energy and labor cost to mine it, stored labor of sorts Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76456362 It goes beyond that. Gold and silver have physical characteristics that lend themselves well to use as money, a store of value. They are easily refined and cast into coins and bars. They are easily identified as gold or silver. They don't rust. They have an inherent value in that people like to use them as jewelry due to their luster. And they are rare which is the most important trait of all. PMs evolved as money over thousands of years. Humans tried all kinds of things as money, but gold and silver rose to the top over time because of their characteristics. They have a high value to humans per unit weight.
