Imagine if you lived for hundreds of years and so did everyone else. How much would you know? How many things could you devote a year or two to learning about?

Also their DNA was less flawed (mutations) than ours is today, they would have bee much smarter and more capable than us. To think they couldn't figure out the months and seasons is not realistic.
