Will probably only get a year or two suspended sentence for that I would think.

Let's see if the US ask for him, then it will take 5 years of litigation. The UK is unlikely to hand him over because of the threats that have been made against him by the US.

His problem is they are unlikely to give him bail again in case he heads to another embassy.

Trump did exert pressure over the Ecuadorian government to withdraw support for Assange.

"JULIAN Assange has been arrested by British police today after spending seven years hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy.

The WikiLeaks founder, 47, was taken into custody after failing to surrender to the court in 2012 - and has spent 2,487 days holed up in the West London embassy

A Metropolitan Police statement said: "He has been taken into custody at a central London police station where he will remain, before being presented before Westminster Magistrates' Court as soon as is possible.

"The MPS had a duty to execute the warrant, on behalf of Westminster Magistrates' Court, and was invited into the embassy by the Ambassador, following the Ecuadorian government's withdrawal of asylum."

Yesterday, Fidel Narvaez, the former Consul of Ecuador to London, said: "The Ecuadorian embassy is not protecting Assange any more."It is doing everything possible to end the asylum."

Yes, and he was more than willing to go there. He was not willing to go to US. We know what awaits him there.

How one arrests a computer generated character is beyond me.

What is stupid about it is that the US, officially, have never asked for him. He's just paranoid that they will have him dragged off in the night.

Now, as the saying goes, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you, but there's no evidence that the US do actually want him. He supported Trump too, so even if they did at one point want him I can see him being pardoned.
