Trump is not showing his hand. To me it is obvious he is distancing himself and playing the long game. Trump knows full well that Assange is the witness to Seth Rich's release of the DNC emails which lead to the accusation of Russia influence on the election and the accusations against President Trump. This is just another example of 4D chess.
