What was so important about the Ancient Greeks?
I always find what we know about their civilization pretty boring compared to say things like the Roman Empire, the rise of Christianity, the Ottomans, the dark ages, etc

I just don't find the Greeks to be an interesting study. Whenever i watch documentaries about them or read Plato i get bored. Why are they viewed as so important?
