Basically what I taught my boys is that self defense is not just a God given right, it is a moral imperative that insures the just will not be oppressed by the evil.
. If they are bigger and stronger than you there is no shame in picking up a bat, they're forcing you to. On the subject of running way or retreating, all that does is put off the problem to another day, or put it on someone else. The only way to deal with a bully is to beat the shit out of it.
