Jesus was two when the Magi came, and then Joseph was told in a dream to take him down to Egypt. If they find the time of the tax they would get closer.

It couldn't have been two years because they were in Jerusalem when they saw the star go stationary according to Matthew. That was the night of December 17-18th 6BC. That's when Jesus Christ was born. First night of the Saturnalia.

Instead of having to watch 44+ minutes of a video, can you just cut to the chase? Spit it out already. Month, day, year.

Christ was conceived by Mary on Nisan 15, or Passover day, and Christ was born exactly 9 lunar months later, on Tevet 15 in the Hebrew calendar.

Ptolemy refers to the planets as stars in his Almagest. You are ignorant of 1st - 2nd century astrological usage. To this very day they are called "stars" in astrology. You're dealing with Arabian magi from the Saba Temple, here. These are stargazers of the Chaldean tradition. They are not looking for space craft, they are watching Jupiter the king star that portends the birth of kings.

Matthew clearly describes a planetary stationary transit in 1st century astrological terms.

Your Urantia book is an ignorant pile of rubbish and a working of error fit only to be burned.

Jesus of Nazareth was born the night of December 17th-18th 6BC at the Jupiter stationary transit and conjunction with Luna in Aries.

He was circumcised in the Temple of Jerusalem on the morning of December 25th 6BC, the 8th day of his nativity, the day the world celebrates his birthday and the first day the sun comes out of solstice and begins the journey back toward the north.

Yes, they do know. The magi are witnesses.

The gold was for solstice sun, the myrrh was for mother moon, and the frankincense was for Jupiter the king star, the star of the Messiah born in Aries, the sign of Syria and Judea.

Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. They have no meaning to you, but to the Magi, they are the astrological witness of the transit forever. And Apostle Matthew preserved them in his writing that all wise men might hold this witness in their hearts and assurance of faith.

Re: When was Christ born and when was he baptised? The Year, Month, and Day. Revealed at last!
The traditional day of the nativity of John the Baptist is June 24. That was most likely the time Jesus came to Jordan to see John and be baptised. Only a fortnight, or so after Pentecost and in the thick of the Wheat Harvest.

Sometime around the Baptist's birthday, that is to say around summer solstice. And then began the lent, or the fast and temptation of Christ in the wilderness on into the dog days of August.

Then Jesus suddenly reappears in the synogogue of Nazareth, Galilee around Rosh Hashanah to proclaim Jubilee year from AD 26-27.

Luke 4 (around New Year, Rosh Hashanah, Sept. AD 26)

16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath Christed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19To proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. 20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were transfixed on him.

Re: When was Christ born and when was he baptised? The Year, Month, and Day. Revealed at last!
Matthew 3 - Sometime around summer solstice and John the Baptist's birthday at the height of wheat harvest, a few weeks after Pentecost of AD 26, the last year of John's ministry

11I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: 12Whose winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his threshing floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with fire unquenchable!

13Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh men such as us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Song of Songs 8
I am the Wall, and my breasts stand out as Towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
For Solomon there is to be a vineyard in the midst Bel of the Multitudes; he lets out the vineyard unto husbandmen, but each one for the fruit thereof must bring silver coins a millennium.
My vineyard, which is mine own, stretches out before me: thou, O Solomon, shall have thy millennium, and those that keep the fruit thereof bicentatum
O thou that dwellest in the gardens, to thy voice thy friends do hearken: cause me to hear it once and again
Now, come quickly my lover, and ever be leaping, as stag or young hart o'er my mounds of Besamim.

What year was Christ born?

Now I made 3 videos to prove that Herod’s death, which most historians date on 4 BC, was actually 3 years too early, and that his death should have been dated on 1 BC instead. These videos are: “Eclipse before Augustus' death & Midrash Rosh Hashana prove Herod the Great's death wasn't on 4 BC”, and “Faulty Olympiad calendar caused 1 year error in redating Herod's death from 1 BC to 4 BC”, and “Co-regency of Augustus and Tiberius caused 2 years error in redating Herod's death from 1 BC to 4 BC”.

Matthew 2:13-21 tells us that Joseph, Mary and Jesus fled to Egypt to avoid Herod, but returned back after Herod's death.

Luke 2:22-23 tells us that Mary was able to present Jesus in the Temple and perform the purification rites required for women who gave birth to a son, which is 40 days after child birth.

This means Herod must have died within 40 days after Christ was born. So if Herod died on 1 BC, then Christ's birth should be no earlier than 40 days before Herod died.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7480069

You're mixed up.

Jesus was born and was a young toddler when Herod gave the command to kill all toddlers 3 and under. As s toddler he went with his mom and step dad into Egypt. When Herod died they returned. If Herod died in 1 BC which he did then Jesus must have been a toddler by then having been born a few years earlier. He was born in 4 BC. Bank on that much.

Re: When was Christ born and when was he baptised? The Year, Month, and Day. Revealed at last!
Herod died at the lunar eclipse of March 13, 4 B.C. according to Josephus (Antiquities 17.6.4). This is a historical fact not disputed by any serious historian.

The reason he commanded the children in Bethlehem 2 years and younger to be slain is because the Magi had come to Jerusalem 2 years prior, the year Christ was born, in 6 BC. Jesus of Nazareth was born 2 years before the death of Herod on the night of December 17th-18th at the Jupiter stationary transit in Aries.

[link to penelope.uchicago.edu]

This eclipse of the moon, (which is the only eclipse of either of the luminaries mentioned by our Josephus in any of his writings;) is of the greatest consequence for the determination of the time for the death of Herod and Antipater; and for the birth, and entire Chronology of Jesus Christ. It happened March 13th, in the year of the Julian period 4710, and the 4th year before the Christian Æra. See its calculation, by the rules of Astronomy, at the end of my Astronomical Lectures, edit. Lat. page 451, 452. See also my VI Dissertations, pag. 336, 339. And Note that in the IIId and IVth of those VI Dissertations, I have largely shewed, what vast use may be made of eclipses, both of the sun and moon, not only in Chronology, but Christianity also; and even in the support of scripture prophecies themselves, as to the grand periods of the four monarchies, and the evident interposition of Divine Providence in the changing and putting an end to those monarchies, pag. 133–267.

Thread: Jesus Christ, birth time, death time, return time, and the current time.
Quoting: Jesus is also the Father God

40 days after Mary gave birth to Jesus, they went to Jerusalem for Mary to perform her purification rite.
22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”), 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”
 Quoting: Luke 2

After Mary performed her purification rite, the whole family went to Galilee (NOT Bethlehem) where Jesus grew up:
39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.
 Quoting: Luke 2

The Magi from the East saw Jesus in Bethlehem, and Herod ordered the children in Bethlehem and its vicinity to be killed. So obviously Christ could not be more than 40 days old when the Magi saw Christ. Because the massacre of the children in Bethlehem and Ramah happened before Joseph and his family went to Jerusalem for Mary to perform her purification rite.

Wrong. Can't be 6 BC keep digging.
Quoting: Jesus is also the Father God

It is correct. The only possible year is 6 BC. It makes the ministry of Christ line up perfectly with the historical year of jubilee too. And the only possible transit for his nativity is the December Jupiter stationary.

It is certain and beyond doubt that Christ was born on the night of December 17-18 6 BC.

Furthermore, the only year in the time range that a high day of preparation would occur on a Friday before the Sabbath prior to Passover is in AD 29 (Friday April 13th to be precise). And so this lines up too. Only when we have the correct year of nativity as 6 BC does everything fall into place perfectly. That was the year, and it was December 17-18 of that year.

It's why they held a blood ritual on 9/11 and celebrate it every year

Cannot be 1 BC. John began his ministry at 30 years old in the 15th year of the co-regent reign of Tiberius. That was 11-25 AD. John would have only been 25 years old if he and Jesus were born in 1 BC. You have to push it back 5 years from there to get Jesus 30 years old when he began his ministry as Luke said he was.

He could not possibly have been born in 1 BC, and yes, Herod died in March of 4 BC. So you must push back the nativity 2 years from 4 BC to 6 BC.

6 BC is the only possible year for the nativity of Christ. The only one. Not 5, not 7, not 4, not 3, not 2, not 1. 6 BC.

Cassius Dio said a total solar eclipse visiible in Rome happened shortly before Augustus died. There was no solar eclipse on 14 AD, but there was one on 17 AD.

Historians are wrong when the dated Augustus' death 3 years too early.

And since Augustus' death was dated 3 years too early, that means the start of Tiberius' reign was dated 3 years too early as well.

Ok, I'll grant you that. Let's say Augustus died in AD 17.

How does that fact in any way change the 15th year of the co-regent reign of Tiberius which began in AD 11?

Answer: it doesn't. Luke doesn't date from Augustus. He dates from Tiberius.

You still have to go back to 6 BC to get the nativity.

No, it doesn't. We know for a fact that the first year of the co-regent reign of Tiberius was AD 11. Augustus's death date doesn't have anything to do with that.

Plus, Luke counts assession years in the common Jewish post-exile manner, so the first year Luke would have counted was AD 11.
