Tool wrote it did they not? Aren't they the ones that should be applauded. Its good these kids can play and music like this is good to practice but really if they don't write they will just end up playing other peoples stuff for ever. Like he said, without the written words, you wouldnt know what the original words were. The vocals being mixed that way was a creative decision. It takes nothing away from Tool's performance. Just because the vocals are pushed up front in the cover version doesn't make it better. I'm not the biggest Tool fan, but I agree with those defending the original here. I'm impressed with the kids because they've done the song justice and their performance is spot on, but do you know how hard it is to write a song like this? They aren't better than Tool playing Tool. Still, cool video, thanks for for posting it. |
