am I the only one to notices that winters are starting later and lasting MUCH longer than they used to?

In the US anyway, there is a line from about Seattle to about Corpus Christi. Things north and east of this line are as the OP states, things south and west are opposite-ish.

i've noticed and we have been saying it here in WI for a good few years now -

not lasting longer but have started later and ended later.

dont fret about it too much... there are much more imminent things to worry about than normal weather cycles.

It's called climate change and mankind has NO effect on it at all.

Here in Canuckistan winter used to start in November and go till March. Now, it starts in January and goes till May. The severity of winter has picked up in the last few years ranging from +40 degrees Celsius in the summer to -40 degrees Celsius in winter...the humidity and wind chill being brutal.

Climate change...yes. Solar cycle change...yes. Possible mini ice age...maybe.

Exactly, it's from cyclical solar influences among other terra firma cycles events, crustal shifts from the planet expanding, it's the way earth maintains it's homeostasis. The earth and the solar system are thinking long term, and do not care what anyone thinks or what anyone does. The universe and the planets are going to so what they do and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it.

More Taxes can fix it all! Especially if all manufacturing jobs are sent to China that doesn't have regulations.

I agree, Yes I know its winter, blah, blah, But here in MI for most of my near 60 years first accumulating snows were in mid November and pretty much done around mid-late March, past few years nothing happens until almost New Years and lingers towards May.

I pick magic mushrooms and over the years i have noticed the season starts later and later as the years go by. Usually shrooms would be starting to pop up between now and the next couple of weeks but the lack of rain and overly warm weather recently and i dont see that happening.

another way to look at it might be like you have 101 younger brothers on this site who say things that annoy you, and it gets on your nerves, but at the same time they are family, so you grin and bear it
