The tweet, which began with the words “Just out,” was sent soon after a White House press secretary told Jeanine Pirro on Fox News that since illegal immigrants can’t be kept indefinitely at detention centers, “the only thing you can do … is release them into American communities.”

The tweet read, “Just out: The USA has the absolute legal right to have apprehended illegal immigrants transferred to Sanctuary Cities. We hereby demand that they be taken care of at the highest level, especially by the State of California, which is well known or its poor management & high taxes!”

Trump has tweeted repeatedly about the idea since first proposing it on Friday.
