When one DONATES, they do not expect or accept anything in return.

When one pays to play, well, Hillary Clinton knows about that.

Snowplow Parenting: a hyper-intensive version of helicopter parenting; the practice attempts to remove obstacles in order to ensure that their children don't have to deal with frustrations or failures.

It spans all income levels. But, is this an effective way to love your children?

Pinned for discussion.

The rich just use "donations" (bribes) to get their kids into a school. The legal bribes are a tax write-off.

"A few of the legal ways college admissions are rigged for the wealthy:

The best-known is the preference and attention that go to parents who give massive donations and endowments before their kids apply — "development admits," in university jargon. As the N.Y. Times' Frank Bruni wrote: "It may be legal to pledge $2.5 million to Harvard just as your son is applying ... and illegal to bribe a coach, ... but ... oth elevate money over accomplishment."

...Tax loopholes that help rich people are enablers of massive donations."

Corrected it for you.

When you are out on the sidewalk teaching your child to ride their bike, at some point you gotta let go, and they are going to fall.

The good parent, picks them off, brushes them off and tell them what an awesome 1st attempt that was, now let's get back on the bike and try again.

If you didn't put a few bandaids on your kids knees, then you failed them..

Who gives AF? honestly it should be totally legal to pay a ton of money to get into good schools. What should not be legal is certain ethnicities who take over college admissions and get their people into good school through nepotism which is what is happening now.

This is the PC take on how they took over the colleges but even if you take into account IQ there should be far more gentiles in ivy league colleges just due to our large numbers. They are actively infiltrating colleges and promoting their own. They are even handy capping asians.

College and our schools of indoctrination are pathetic. They certainly don't teach the truth about the fraudulent Federal Reserve and they certainly don't teach shit about our court systems of injustice.

The word EDUCATION actually means the teaching of Animals.

Why is it that the Colleges themselves are not being questioned as to their involvement in possible pay to play schemes? No doubt to me that they are corrupted too.

You mean selling seats in their freshman classes? Private colleges are legally entitled to do that.

The problem here is that the purchasing mechanism was circumvented via a cheaper "side door" where often the money didn't even wind up in the school's coffers. And there was cheating on the SAT and ACT, which is largely the fault of the testing companies for allowing such un-supervised testing.

Great comment.what is an inheritance i ask?

Snowplow is a fresh realistic term to me and corrolates bruteforce or ddos.
From a mathematical point of view its an obvious leverage.

Bottom line with old money, kids going into family business and needs skills.the schools cater to this need.the degree means nothing as the kid passes eventually.Gets job at some fund somewhere.

I really like that snowplow term.lol!

The snowplow parent phenomenon is more of affluent thing because middle class and poor people can't afford to pay half million dollars to cheat their kid's way into a prestigious university. What we see with the college admissions scandal is rich people buying their kids way into university over more higher achieving students who come from poorer backgrounds. Middle class and poor people can't afford to spoil their kids rotten nor do they have time and money to smooth out every little wrinkle in life that their kids encounter.

It couldn't then call itself a university, and the donation
couldn't be treated as tax deductible (charitable giving).

Those colleges should lose their accreditation and the degrees
should be voided so that employers know to hire actual graduates of an accredited institution.

They should be called an education club.

$500 grand isn’t much money for a celebrity to pay to get their kid into college ~ especially one that doesn’t want to go. I’d fire that fundraiser.
