YIELD SIGN EFFECT: What color is the US 'yield sign' ? (19 PAGES - still no consensus after 3 years!! TIME PARADOX EVIDENCE???)

So let me get this straight:

You have 'ONLY' been driving for 37 years ...
Yet you never seen a yellow yield sign!

Is this correct?

people don't get too freaked out over this

yield signs have become less and less common than they used to be

they are not very safe because if there is perpendicular traffic that is NOT stopping for you, it is better to just stop every time

similarly, are less two-way stop intersections

4-way is much safer,

agreed- they are confusing and lead to tentative behaviour rather then an affirmative reaction to a command

in order to yield, you have to stop and pause to see if traffic is coming

so you might as well just put a stop sign there and avoid the confusion and potential serious accidents

this phenomenon is not nearly so mind blowing as this guy is making it out to be

there are much fewer yield signs out there because they have been replacing them with 2-way stop signs for safety reasons

so most of the yeild signs that you saw when you were driving probably were yellow, and that's the first thing that comes to mind

let me guess- he was selling audio tapes on how to change your perception of life blah blah blah and he was trying to make himself look like some kind of genius

Anyway, driving students don't understand them and neither do most licensed drivers of various ages and experience.

To me, driving at the Speed limit on the freeway, a "yield" sign tells me "idiots merging now without considering traffic patterns".

That is the Reality.

If the others see yellow "yield" signs that is fine.

Personally I never see them. But, I find them to be ineffective due to lack of driver education.

People merge onto freeway lanes without right of way when they see a "yield" sign.

the hive mind system isnt updating fast enough thus adding up to the drone like state some humans apparently live in.

the old yellow background with black letters are much easier to see the word “yield” than the red letters on a white background- dumb

yup have not seen a yellow one in years now.

only matters if one is turning.....the one turn must yield.....if they arrive at the same time.

the yield signs WERE yellow with black letters.

if you are turning LEFT than the other person has the right of way, always.

When I was growing up taking drivers ed in 1994 I was taught the color warnings Red meant stop. Yellow and orange meant yield. We had to identify signs by both their color and by the shape. All signs conformed to these rules. Even traffic lights

You see orange yield signs on farm equipment yellow for road signs

1994 - that's 22 years after the official "yield" sign change to red & white.

Yellow meaning is now general warning.
Red is stop and yield.

I didn't even know this was a topic of discussion.

I pass a yield sign everyday on Talking Rocks Road (the ozarks) and it is YELLOW.

Granted we're 20 years behind the rest of society.

Can you take a pic and post it in this thread?
