I used to work in restaurants (for about 20 years). It comes with the territory that you don't get PTO, paid sick time and in most cases, health insurance. Why the hell should I pay for something the company WANTS to offer. A lot of jobs don't have PTO or paid sick time. You miss day of work-YOU DON'T GET PAID. Sick or not. When did it become a thing that people have some kind of right to get paid when they don't work? I don't get it. Yeah you're sick and you didn't make yourself sick but it's still a business and if you aren't there they should have to pay you. Period.
